  • Re: Error: Key not valid for use in specified state

I had the same issue (it showed up while trying to update Logos and also iTunes). I found this response on the forums at techguy.com . It involved uninstalling one windows update. I did it and was able to update Logos right away. Solution: http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-software/1132795-key-not-valid-use-specified.html Rob

I will give it a try. But, what seems to be the source of the recurring issues. It seems as though I delete one thing, another goes bad... wash, rinse, repeat. Any thought on long-term fixes?

I have had three separate crash problems since the update. Here are the latest logs. On a positive note, I am learning patience & long-suffering ;)

Alright. Mysteriously crashing again. Cannot perform a search. And it is now crashing when I open with a blank layout. Here are the logs. BTW, about two days ago it was working flawlessly. Then I downloaded OmniOutliner and iBooks Author. After those downloads the crashes started.

Interesting. Seems to work. So far so good. I actually was able to search a Scripture and use the tools. Any thoughts on how to get it repaired to where I don't have to open to blank layout consistently? I got much farther into the program this time than usual. Thanks for the help thus far!!

I have a 500 GB hard drive with 177 gigs remaining. I recently upgraded my hard drive because the 300 gig was full. Everything moved over fine and Logos worked better than ever. About three days ago, it started acting up. I downloaded the latest version this morning, and now I am here.

  • Major crash problem

I updated to Logos 5 this morning. Now when I attempt to open, the farthest I can get is the "Signing In" box, then it crashes. I have tried a normal and blank layout, both crash when it gets to the "Signing In" box. Please advise ;)

Same here! I ran Terminal and manually entered to no avail. Then downloaded and ran script. It worked a moment longer, but then crashed again. Any more ideas?

Thanks. However, I am a new Logos user so how long does it usually take for bug fixes to be developed? Thanks!

The workaround worked. And then the return to homepage, Exodus 2 - GO, Biblical People stayed collapsed. How do I fix the problem though?

I have shut down and restarted several times. The Logos icon in menu bar never appears, which I assume means indexing has completed? After waiting for icon but it never showing I opened Logos, and crash was replicated.
