  • Re: Making Logos usable for academic research

Thanks to those who've shown how to turn on page numbers globally (where available). That's a nice context menu I hadn't met before. [quote user="Mark Barnes"] Interestingly I also saw Schanbel's, Acts: Expanded Digital Edition , which presumably has never been given page numbers, despite having a print equivalent. To the extent that part of this thread is concerned with MVPs and their style, I'll add my vote to those praising them, their knowledge, and their courtesy. There are only a handful of my favourite MVPs who haven't (yet) joined this thread; I trust they will soon, so they can hear the general consensus that appreciates their contribution. :-)

I'll add my voice to those (1) lamenting inadvertent plagiarism, and (2) seeking to keep their Logos versions. While there's some disbelief that we have to ask for this, I'm a little cautious about digital resources. After all, to my knowledge FL doesn't treat every digital edition exactly as a print copy. For example, I think academic purchases can

  • Re: Formatting of Bible passage output for the Copy Bible Verse feature

If you cannot get Logos to conveniently add the extra line, it's not hard to do in a wordprocessor like Word. You could search and replace every occurrence of ^p (the paragraph mark at the end of each verse/line) with ^p^p (two paragraph marks, with the second generating a blank line).

How delightful to see the latest app update (5.1.1.) promising "better offline navigation support" (and Kevin's post with release notes even references our current thread). All the examples I listed above do seem to be working properly now. Thanks to all involved.

  • Re: passage location problems?

Thanks, MJ. But one of the things that I like about the desktop version – unlike other programs I've used in the past – is that Logos is quite robust. Bible books recognise a number of abbreviations (Ex, Exod, Exodus); chapter and verse can be separated by colon or full-stop/period or even a space; and it doesn't matter whether there's a gap or not

  • passage location problems?

Perhaps it's just me. And perhaps there's an older thread on this; please redirect me. I'm sure older versions of the iOS app were pretty robust when it came to manually typing the passage I wanted to jump to. I could offer 'Rev' or 'Rev4' or 'Rev7.9', and they'd all work (though, of course, taking me to different places). At the moment (v5.0.4), I
