  • Re: OFFLINE download - not an oxymoron

Apple does allow it! Its common for apps to allow transfers of files to/from SMB, FTP, web services and using iTunes, some apps allow you to read or drop files directly to your connected iThing. In the same way the desktop app wont open a file you don't have a license for, nor would the mobile app, so that part is no issue. Allowing one to drop files

  • Re: BUG: 5.3 beta 2 indexer crashed a few times I think

I did a hide/restart then unhide/restart and that resource opens now. I think it first downloaded under beta 1 so when memory-mapped I/O was in effect. Makes me wonder if other resources might also be corrupt too. It would be nice if there was a diag test that could run and validate all files, databases and the likes. But even better is to never need

  • Re: BUG: 5.3 beta 2 indexer crashed a few times I think

Well, I'm unsure but I might have run out of disk space the first time or two I think the indexer restarted from 0. I freed up 50 GB or so and as above, did a "download resources" and "rebuild index" hoping all would be great. Just a short while ago, I opened the app and it started OK. It found some new resources to download so I let it do so and restart

  • Re: BUG: 5.3 beta 2 indexer crashed a few times I think

It downloaded 3 new resources which it did phase one index on in under 5 mins, and its spent the last hour or two merging the sup index into the main index. Its OK - its up to 23%. Grr - something is really messed up I think. Logs once I see whats actually going on. I've not even attempted to load the resource which might or might no crash it. Its midnight

  • Re: Tutorial on Automating Logos4+ with ComApi in VBA

Hi all. I've just found this thread on the API. I played with it for some weeks when it was new and then never went back and did much with it. I really wanted it to directly support pasting commands to the cmd box but it does not. Anyway, this has inspired me to try again as the last I did was about 2 weeks ago when I installed Visual Studio to this

  • BUG: 5.3 beta 2 indexer crashed a few times I think

Wow - some real issues here. My indexer has restarted from 0 a few times I think. At least once it failed around 60% but I did not have logging on. I do now and its at 91% after many many hours. Last time I started the main Logos 5 app and maybe that's how I killed something and crashed the indexer. I'll hold off and let it complete if it will, and

  • Re: CRITICAL BUG: Please fix the failure mode for the iOS app

Drew, Yes a bit like that, but I did not attempt a password change. There was some kind of fault with the Logos servers or somethng as could be seen by the forum posts all,at the same time. I've yet to,notice any response to the fact there was even an issue. I was not the only one thrown back to the signin screen on my iOS apps. I think a formal resonse

  • Re: CRITICAL BUG: Please fix the failure mode for the iOS app

Alabama, No I was not forced to delete or reinstall the app. Due to the fault it dropped me and others back to the signin screen and nuked all downloaded data. Very unacceptable failure mode and I'm hoping will be accepted as a defect and improved in an app update.

  • CRITICAL BUG: Please fix the failure mode for the iOS app

When the server fault happened, the app does not fail to OFFLINE, but total dead. Not useful, and once login was possible again, all offline resources and things like the cover images needed to download again. My iPhone and iPad have been downloading / rebuilding index etc for the last 30-60 mins and not done yet. Please redesign the core app to fail

  • Re: Logos app for iWatch?

I can't get videos to run for more than a few minutes before the battery goes flat, and searching my 10,000 resources offline takes a few hours. Why can't Logos for iWatch be faster?

  • Re: BUG: Search bug, feature or do I need to rebuild my index?

Sorry for the delay in my feedback: i've been at work and working late on a server patching and rebooting project eating up more hours than I care, so spending even more time on a computer when I get home is NOT always very high on my list. My first index rebuild failed after running out of space on C:. The 2nd run completed OK after maybe 10-12 hours

  • BUG: Search bug, feature or do I need to rebuild my index?

While searching for aliens (see recent iPad post), I find I can locate a specific hit in NIB on my iPad searching on "two papyri and some". This becomes an online search and finds the one hit in seconds. On my Windows PC, 5.3 Beta 1, I get zero hits. Changing the text to "as have two papyri" finds the hit. Adding the more complete "as have two papyri

  • Re: Hebrew Aliens, in muh iPad! I seen'um!

I have the NIB downloaded, and the footnote is built in to that resource, not something pulled from offline or some other resource. I expect the aliens will therefore be invading many other resources too. I don't imagine it will be limited to the two titles of the above posts. They are cute, but really out of place and unexpected. Clearly a font matter

  • Re: Library Sort by Title different iOS vs PC

Alabama, Thankyou for the hours you spend here helping and offering advise and suggestions. In this case, I've edited the title to include BUG as thats what it is maybe. I'm not seeking help, only reporting what appears to be a defect which Logos staff might elect to action. As for the resource in question, I guess I can hide it, if it continues to

  • Re: Hebrew Aliens, in muh iPad! I seen'um!

I found those same aliens in NIB in one of its 1st NT articles about early mss etc. Now I've missed my chance to be first to write about the aliens but I can at least confirm they are not limited to the resource Ben posted about. In NIB they are also footnote related.

  • Re: Library Sort by Title different iOS vs PC

Hi Alabama, Please read carefully what I wrote ... Title says "Library", "Sort by Title", and that iOS and PC give different results which I then describe. A screenshot is pointless and misses totally my final comment.

  • BUG: Library Sort by Title different iOS vs PC

On my iPad, I have a title that now sorts to the first place every time I open the Library. Its title starts "... And" so iOS sorts it prior to the numeric titles. On my PC, it sorts as "And" and appears somewhere down the list. Now, not really a big deal, but the two products are not doing the same thing. As it happens, I really don't want to see that

I want to thank Bob for taking the time to write to us here and attempting to explain his "rules" but much more, his heart. I'm one of the ones that I guess is keeping the small light in the corner on. Other are paying for the larger main lights, but I like to think I'm helping. I'm even dumb enough to think that getting some of the CPs over the line

[quote user="alabama24"] I dont understand what you mean by "installing." Thinking through various possible meanings: You can "install the app" (download from the app store). You can "install the resource" (download the resource). You can "install the note documents" (download the note files). I am unsure what you mean by "install" since it doesn't
