I also notice on my 13" MBP (2 cores/4 thread) that indexing will start off using all 4 threads but then will scale down to one or two threads before indexing is over.

The light bulb just went off (I think)! So with a quad core processor, Logos indexer will assign one thread for each core (engaging all 4 cores and thereby not utilizing hyper threading) which is more efficient then assigning 4 threads to 2 cores (utilizing hyper threading). If this is all correct then I have a much clearer picture of what is going

  • Hebrew equivalent of Lexham Analytical Lexicon

I'm looking for a Logos resource that lists all the morphologies for every word in the Old Testament. It would be nice to see if a Hebrew word has a particular inflection for feminine and masculine or not. Thanks!

  • Ruah in Logos - Gender tagging

Can someone explain why the new Logos Hebrew morphology has removed the gender tagging for certain nouns such as "ruah"? AFAT has ruah tagged as feminine.

Thanks for the link. I'm trying to understand the reasoning behind it all. For instance, what would I say if certain individuals claim that Logos is using theological bias to remove the feminine tagging for the Holy Spirit ?

Thanks Vincent for that very informative reply! I have a follow up question for the Hebrew scholar. I always thought that Hebrew nouns were inflected to indicate gender. It seems as if that is not the case. Are some nouns inflected for gender and others not? No nouns? Just proper nouns? What about adjectives? (The adjective in the Exodus 10:19 example

Does the new Retina display help distinguishing the Hebrew vowel markings in the interlinear pane? I have a Hires 15" and cannot easily distinguish them. Any other thoughts on the Retina display with Logos would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Re: Bug:אֱלוֹהַּ and Morphology chart

Thanks for the reply Dave. I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I thought the Logos Hebrew morphology is based on the LHB. LHB and AFAT have eloah tagged as singular in 2 Kings 17:31. BHS tags as plural but I believe that is because it is using the qere not the ketiv.

  • Official Logos for Mac Representative

There has been several questions as of late concerning which Mac computer to buy to run Logos. I have seen several Logos users give conflicting information concerning the number of cores/threads that Logos utilizes. Can we get an official answer from Logos concerning the following questions: On a Mac (Mono) for Logos 5 1) How many cores and threads

  • [resolved] Bug: Reference Text box

In Logos 5 when I would click in the reference text box of my preferred Bible, the entire reference would be highlighted. In Logos 6, when I click in the box, nothing is highlighted and I have to delete everything before I can type in the new reference. Any way to get the old behavior back? Thanks!

I can't imagine why anyone would defend Logos 6. I got it for free and I would most definitely have requested a refund had I paid for it. It has been a train wreck from the beginning. It seems that every update decreases performance. Logos 4 was slow and buggy (Mac). Logos 5 came out and we received more features, greater stability, and an increase

Thanks KS4J for you helpful comments concerning performance issues. As this thread has been somewhat hijacked with talks about stability, crashes, parity, complainers, etc., my purpose in starting this thread was to provide feedback and hopefully encourage Logos to keeping making strides in the performance department (especially for Macs). Once again

Here are some examples of where I'm seeing the sluggishness in Logos 6 as compared to Logos 5. 1. Scrolling 2. Opening books 3. Right click menus 4. Highlighting text w/ Sympathetic highlighting turned on All of the above were faster in Logos 5. I have attached logs. 4062.LogosLogs.loxendine.20141125-104600.zip
Performance problems tend to be machine-specific (and can happen on both Windows and Mac); as you probably saw from this thread, for every person saying "Logos is slow", someone else replied "runs fine for me".
This comment is a little disingenuous considering the current tally in this thread is 7
