• Re: Preferred Tablets

A key question may be what kind of reading you're doing. I bought a Sony book reader years ago, and I've loved it. The screen is about the same size as a paperback, but the reader is thinner, lighter, and can hold hundreds of books. So for me, it was a perfect replacement for paperbacks for my subway commute and when I traveled. I'm taking classes now
Who decides? I was thinking basic, simple, easy ideas such as Perseus collection, and American History collection. These two by itself carry thousands of resources.
I think this is an important point. Collections provide a flexible way to customize the organization of our libraries, but it depends on the tagging of every
... Yes, I agree that a leader among Bible Software should give users options to tag themselves and organize their libraries any way they want. But I do not agree that pre-defined tags should not be offered by LOGOS. Yes, I am glad the Logos community is working on a project to make pre-defined tags. I am very happy about that. BUt
1. It would be a huge amount of work and that increased amount of work would be costly and, in turn, may result in price increases for resources.
It would be a significant amount of work, but additional pre-defined Logos tags could be added gradually over time.
2. Perhaps more importantly

  • Re: Web Site Suddenly Appearing in Spanish?

Mine is back to English. I shut the browser down and went away for a few hours, and now when I came back it's showing English again. I did not do anything intentional to shift between languages either time. I was signed in, and I'm use Firefox version 34.0.5 under Windows 8.1. I don't recall clicking a link to a Spanish page, but I might have done that

To your point, though, it's always great to get more than you expect! I particularly appreciate thorough linking.

  • Re: How'd They Do 'That'?? Technical Treatises of Antiquity

I find that this kind of "how did they do things" information makes the ancient world seem much more real and accessible to me. It makes it easier to relate to the people as people with ordinary, everyday tasks and problems.
You may want to look at this resource by Everett Ferguson. https://www.logos.com/product/3643/the-church-of-christ-a-biblical-ecclesiology-for-today Why I suggest this book is because Ferguson is a history scholar from the Restoration Movement-which means restoring the first century church model in today's culture. • Re: What are good church history resources?

I have found Justo Gonzalez' Story of Christianity to be a very good general survey of church history. I don't believe it's available in Logos (which is a shame, because I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it were), but is available on Amazon. It's a two volume work, but there is a paper version that has both volumes bound together. Gonzalez covers the early
I think it's OK to admit to your congregation that you find a passage challenging. Then they won't think they are freaks for finding some parts of Scripture challenging. If their pastor also does, then it's a comfort to know they are not alone. Pastors who try to present themselves as having it all figured out and never feeling
I know that Google does not do a fuzzy search. But the fact that I can find something I'm looking for in Google when I can't find it in Logos means I'm turning to Google more often when I ought to be able to stay in Logos to do such searches. And if Logos brought back its fuzzy search from L3 then I wouldn't have to resort
