• Re: Number of times Jesus speaks about Heaven and Hell

Please clarify - what do you think is missing?
I assume that each time Jesus speaks FL tagged this with Jesus being the speaker. And I assume each time there is a reference to hell, FL tagged this as topic/sense hell. And the same for heaven. So if the Bible Browser finds more places where

What's special about 10 am I wonder. Why is that the magical time for Faithlife to update webpages?
Sales used to go live at midnight, but Faithlife made a number of mistakes so changed the timing to 10am around 18 months ago to eliminate the mistakes.
It makes a lot of sense to me

For what little it may be worth, it struck me as a bit tacky too. That's not to say that anyone did anything wrong - humor can be hard to get right, and tacky isn't the same thing as blasphemous. Humor's also a matter of taste. For me it came across a bit like the co-worker who thinks he's funny, but isn't. For others it may have come across like one
If my paycheck is magically put into my bank account without me working, I would happily spend 10 hours/day on Biblical research. But I need to earn my paycheck. For people like me who are trying to squeeze the most out of the time they have on Biblical research, anything that saves time is valuable. Having ranks from several sources
Looks like everyone who bought a set that includes this will see the pre-order indicate that they preordered today: Now I wanna know when we get it
I wonder why it's showing a dynamic price of $30 if we already own it?

  • Re: Study/Encounter a Different Tradition Collections

I think it's a great idea. In my mind, what might be most useful would be relatively small, affordable collections that would include introductions written by members of a faith tradition for new members or curious outsiders. There might also be a place for sympathetic overviews written from a historical or academic perspective. It wouldn't be perfect

  • Re: Creed vs Manual

DAL, I think you could do some good if you helped people think through the real issues. Churches of Christ have used a number of teaching tools over the years that have served a teaching (dare I say "catechetical") function, including theological terms like "Trinity," short slogans and longer formulations like the "five finger exercise." Other traditions

  • Re: Creed vs Manual
... the moment someone says “I believe in no creed but the Bible” they’re automatically stating a creed ...
I think you need to define your terms much more carefully. Everyone believes things - they can't help it and still function in society - and not every expression of belief is "a creed" in the modern

  • Re: Creed vs Manual

The historical background of the Restoration Movement may be relevant here. This was a time when rather elaborate and detailed statements of faith were taken very seriously For instance, if I recall correctly, certain articles of the Westminster Confession of Faith were at issue when Barton Stone left the Kentucky synod. The movement's anti-creedalism
