• Re: PBB - Crash on Large .docx file

You can also see that Logos changes the color of the headings. I am fairly certain that this is based upon the default Word styles. I do not know how to change it, but I am not concerned about it either.

Ernesto - There is nothing special about my styles, but I will attach it for you. I have some training in typography (enough to form opinions; not enough to make any money ), so I like to tweak things. On my own, I would never choose to use Word for a print document. On the one hand, it is not as easy as I would want. On the other hand, it does not

Larry - First, welcome to the forums! Can you tell me more about the books you added? Did you tag them in any way? Did the automated Scripture references work properly?

Bohuslav - I was worried about that too, but it is seamless. You do have to be careful to make sure you have the .docx files listed in the right order, but they are drag and drop. It's also important to make sure you use the same heading hierarchy, or your TOC won't look like you want. I have a considerable formatting job in front of me, but the foundation

No fears. Floyd is right. It should take no more than 5 minutes on the phone. Your resources may even begin to download while you are on the phone (if you do a restart).

  • Re: PBB - Crash on Large .docx file

Thanks to advice from Keep Smiling For Jesus! I was able to isolate a troublesome section in the book. I broke the book down into its own internal sections as independent .docx files. It turned out to be something in the formatting in the very last appendix. To fix the problem, I "cleared all formatting" and reworked it. Worked like a charm. The Personal

  • PBB - Crash on Large .docx file

I was wondering how large some of your PBB files are. I am having a crash when trying to build one particular one, which is very large (572 pages). It is a book no longer in print, which the organization has put on their website. I transferred it from .PDF to .DOCX and spent some time reformatting it. Every time I try to build the book, Logos crashes

  • Re: Side navigation on Personal Books

Nicky - As DominicM said, you use the "Heading" styles. FYI - You can create new ones based upon the originals if you want. Also, "Heading 2" will "nest" inside of "Heading 1" and so on. This will require advanced planning for more complicated works. For example: If you have several "parts" in a book, each with "chapters" and "subheadings", make sure

Bill - I noticed this and thought I would share it with you. Each resource is marked with a description in the info panel for that book. Here is a key to those descriptions. FWIW - "eBooks" equals "Vyrso."
Hmm, could I just as well get the kindle version and use the PBB to convert it to logos version and use it with logos just the same?
Bill, if there is a will, there is a way. I am sure there is SOME way to do that, but it may be well beyond yours or my capabilities. I have the kindle reader and recently purchased 5-6 books

  • Re: Are resources on Logos better than Amazon Kindle?

Hi Bill. Welcome to the Forums! There are some resources that you will find cheaper other places. Sometimes they are cheaper in Logos. In my mind, the primary reason to get Logos resources is the ability to serendipitously discover through a search that a resource you had forgotten about has just what you need. If you have your resources spread out

Sorry Bob to get the thread side tracked... Unfortunately I don't know much about the tagging yet. I have begun to create my first book though. By using modified headings (1, 2 & 3), it is working very well for me.
