• Re: "Description" of Journals in Logos Library
I have long wished that there were an editable Comments field for each item in our library, where we could put our own stuff to supplement the Faithlife-provided description. A field that would show up in the Info panel in the Library when that was open, and in the Info panel of the book when the book is open and its Info

  • Re: Number of pages/words in a book

I don't usually care exactly how many pages a book has. Knowing if it has 30 pages, 100, 300, 800, 2000, are the type of guesstimates I would use. That is why I like the idea of a visual thickness with a mouseover for page#'s. One argument is that page numbers are irrelevant to ebooks, yet I suppose few readers would be convinced. So long as paper books

  • Re: Removing Handouts in 8.5
Workaround for the one in a million people who need to make and use and not delete/erase many handouts (and can't stay pre-8.5): 1. Before updating to 8.5, create a few dozen (or more) handout documents, saved according to some reasonable scheme: ExtraHandout1, ExtraHandout2, etc. 2. After 8.5, edit at your leisure. [/quote
Okay, now comes the big question. How many are interested in the old hymns and spiritual songs?
Yes. I am interested. I hope your plan gets resurrected. My brother in law was an old hymn super-nerd (nodding to Rosie) with a substantial collection of old hymnbooks of every stripe. His special interest was early American

Yet in the end, to appeal to logic as final authority is a wobbly self-deception because we can only apply logic to what we can perceive (rooted in our nasty, deceptive senses) we end up back at faith in the authority of God. • Re: What are the March Madness "must haves?"

Purportedly, perception is not rooted in reality (our senses being easily deceived) whereas logic is rooted in reason. While truth exists outside our perceptions, we cannot reason logically about things we cannot perceive. So in the end we can only line up one subjectivity against another (E.G. Walton vs. Ham) and end up back at faith. I appreciate

I hijacked a thread a few days ago and did so deliberately, although, before anyone judges, I think without malice or evil intent. I knew the guidelines and broke them. My comments shifted substantially from the OP. At the time I thought my reason was justifiable. 1. My hijacking did not work well and had minimal effect. 2. I was both encouraged meaningfully

So glad your mother is fine. I just learned that I have colon cancer. By God's grace we shall live this new assignment well and our desire is to live it for to God's glory, to strengthen Believers and to spread the Gospel. My wife and I have returned to WA from another country, don't know our way around well in the US anymore (we do have a daughter

  • Re: Zondervan MasterLectures vs. Logos Mobile Ed.

What I like about FL is the curated readings from my library. I have never found the lectures compelling or deep. Most of the meat, for me, comes from reflecting while reading. On the other hand, my wife really enjoys the lectures and doesn't do much of the reading. So, variety provides value for us all.
