MJ, are you still having this problem? I'm not able to reproduce it. Could you send log files? They're written to the "Verbum Log Files" folder (instead of "Logos Log Files"). Thanks! Bryan

  • Re: After each update, I get a blank icon on my taskbar

Could you please upload the setup log files generated by the update that broke the link to the icon file? The DigitalLibraryInstall.log file may contain some clues. I haven't been able to reproduce this issue. Thanks!

Depending on when your machine checked for updates, the automatic update may not have worked. This problem should now be fixed. Sorry for the hassle! Bryan

You can also set the user interface language by running Logos from the command line and adding /lang:en So, something like this (depending the path to your Logos installation), typed into Command Prompt: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Logos4\Logos.exe /lang:en When Logos comes up, use the "Set language to English" command in the Command Box to

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the inconvenience that this issue has caused. The heart of the problem is indeed the German localization--there's a string called "VerbumLogoFile," which is supposed to have a comment "Do not translate this." associated with it. The value of the string is actually the name of a file. It's supposed to be "VerbumLogo

Rosie, Logos 4 Setup shouldn't be connecting to the Internet in this mode... it's certainly not downloading anything, since Logos 4 has already downloaded everything it needs before launching Logos 4 Setup. Just in case, could you please post the logos4setup.log file? I'll be looking into it. Thanks, Bryan

  • Re: Bug: Logos crashing on startup

There is a fix for the Windows version of 4.6 Beta 3 available at Logos4Setup.exe . Please note that this build includes a number of untested code changes which could crash the program, etc. You should only install it if you are currently unable to run Logos 4 due to the "crash at startup" problem. We hope to release a new build sometime tomorrow which

Ryan, Would you happen to have the DigitalLibraryInstall.log file, which, if you have logging enabled, would be in your Documents\Logos Log Files folder, otherwise in your %TEMP%\Logos Log Files folder? That's the log file that Windows Installer writes when it installs the Logos4.msi. Any other log files in that folder might be helpful as well. Of course

Rosie, Do you happen to have DigitalLibraryInstall.log file? I realize that you have probably installed Beta 2 since then, which would have overwritten that log file, so it's a long shot, but that's where the relevant information would be. This is a Windows Installer-issued warning which we can't control (other than not showing any Windows Installer

Donnie, It would have been related to installing font updates to the system. Depending on your OS and UAC settings, it should have asked your permission to elevate in order to run the per-machine prerequisites installer... The bootstrapper launches the Logos 4 installer straight away after installing the prerequisites, and you'd have to watch pretty

[quote user="Donnie Hale"] (Unless there are new prerequisites for 4.5, I'm pretty sure I didn't have any unmet prerequisites.) And why can't we directly download the *real* (~45MB) installer directly instead of the bootstrap installer which simply proceeds to download the real installer? • Re: Screen Readers with L4

Dean, Thank you for your ideas on the Resource display. We're currently working on that area and are interested this kind of feedback. It is clear that there needs to be some sort of word-by-word navigation so that you can interact with the text on a word level--just reading it isn't quite enough. Currently you actually can navigate by verse, which
