• Re: 4d error on install

John, if you could post your setup log files here that would be great. If you have logging enabled, you'll find these files in your Documents folder's "Logos Log Files" folder. If you don't have logging enabled, you should be able to find them in your TEMP folder's "Logos Log Files" folder. You can get to this folder by opening Windows Explorer and
Bryan, having recovered my custom installation I intend to delete the folders that were created in the default Logos4 location EXCEPT for the \Install folder! However, is it safe to retain any of those setup files, particularly the Beta 3 msi i.e. would they cause problems for uninstallation now or in the future?
Sorry for the trouble. A problem with the Logos4.msi caused Windows Installer to delete the Logos4 registry key, as Dave has pointed out, though it only affected certain users updating along a certain update path. There are several affected keys, Logging, LastWindowPlacement and InstallDirectory. The first means that if you want logging, which as Rosie

Rubén, I haven't seen anything like this before. I wonder if you could attach some log files which were written when the Logos setup program ran. If you have logging enabled, you should find those files in your "My Documents\Logos Log Files" folder. If you don't have logging enabled (which is the default), the Setup log files are still written to your

John, I've checked out your log files. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I'll need more information to figure out where the problem lies. Please save the attached file to your Logos 4 folder, which is C:\Users\JonathanB\AppData\Local\Logos4, and rename it to ReportFolderPermissions.bat. When you run the file, it will create a file named Logos4Permissions.txt

Rosie, This is indeed a problem that we'd like to figure it out! The TRANSIENT_ERROR means that an error occurred while BITS was downloading the file, such as a network cable getting unplugged, losing connection to your wireless router for a moment, or a hiccup on the Internet. This sort of error is considered recoverable, so BITS will wait for a time
