• Re: Windows Logos 5 not starting

Thanks Graham - I hadn't noticed it was an old log file. I had followed the instructions, and that is what was in the folder. I posted it assuming it was the new log. I've attempted again, and there is nothing new I've also searched my compter to see if the new file is in another location, but nothing is coming up. I'm in contact with tech support.
Salvation army tends to always do good work with their donations. If a more religious bent is what you are looking for the Bible Societies again do a good job in making scriptures available both near and abroad.
Just an aside - The Salvation Army is actually a denomination - it's along the Methodist lines, but is

  • Re: Great deals on Logos/Vyrso Books!!!
I just wonder why Kay Arthur's book on How to Study the Bible (Inductive Bible Study) is not available on Vyrso. I mean, other similar titles by her are there why not stick that one in the mix and sell it by the dozens or better yet, give it away for a "limited time offer" deal...;-) DAL
+1

Thanks so much! I grew up going to the Salvation Army, so it's neat to see some SA authors here

Yeah - this has been a common request for a while. There is a uservoice suggestion made for it - you may want to check it out and add your vote http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4/suggestions/607673-complete-the-set-of-precept-symbols I have to say - when I first found the set of Precept symbols that were already in Logos
Thanks for the comments guys! Are people creating their own using the palettes? That seems very redundant. You'd think they would be readily available...
That's what I've done. I have to admit though that I'm still a pencil/ paper gal for when I do Precept studies. I've found it's just much quicker to use

  • Re: Commentary on Isaiah

Another thought - maybe there's something out there that's not specifically a commentary on Isaiah, but instead gives insight into the culture of Israel/ Judah during the reigns of Hezekiah, Uzziah, etc. that would give insight into the context in which Isaiah was written. I'm wondering if there is anything similar to http://www.logos.com/product/5339
RMC ... there's is NO WAY that you can not use all the Logos resources profitably. Which scholar ever started out 'scholarly'? I say this as a compliment. Granted ... money can often be a challenge!
LOL Thanks Denise
Looking at product page, noticed Tyndale Commentaries

With Psalm 131:1 on my mind, I'm going to take my leave of this thread. Thank you so much for the recommendations you have given me, they've been very helpful. Enjoy your discussion gentlemen!

Wow - I can see that I am in WAY over my head, at least in comparison to the scholarly views here. Whew! This is going to be an incredible study next year - I'm looking forward to it! Mark - Thank you so much for the screen shots. They are very helpful! Unfortunately, barring a Christmas miracle, the NICOT is just not going to happen for me. I'm just
I am not sure if this is of any help, you may have already come across it: http://www.logos.com/Isaiah It's the Logos Product Guide for all things Isaiah. http://www.bestcommentaries.com/isaiah/ is also helpful, it does say it indicates what is available in Logos format. What is useful, besides a community based rating

  • Commentary on Isaiah

I'm going to be starting a study on Isaiah in the new year, and was wondering if you have any recommendations for commentaries. What I'm looking for is something that gives cultural background and insights into the Hebrew text (preferably written in a way that someone who doesn't know Hebrew would understand). My preference is a commentary that is not

I have Bible Study library, and yes, you do get the LN numbers in the ESV interlinear. However, with the basic package, clicking on the LN numbers does not bring up any information, while clicking on the Strong's numbers brings you to your dictionaries (however I'm not an expert in Logos, so I could easily be missing something). Yep - not sure how they're counting first-come first served - I was within 5 minutes of it going live and haven't received anything yet. (I was surprised to see I ordered so quickly - I came on, ordered, then saw the forum and realized it has JUST gone live). Not complaining though - I can wait, in fact I don't mind even being pushed to the back of

  • Re: Purchase advice: Encyclopedia of Christianity volume 5 vs new ISBE

If you've bought the the first 4 EoC volumes separately, I wonder if you could call Customer Service and see if you can get a price break on the 5th, since they do sell all 5 together as a bundle. I've never done this myself, but I see from a number of posts on the forum that sometimes calling before you purchase can get you a discount, and this seems

  • Re: Question about new Perseus PrePub resources

I wonder if Logos would be able to include an "exclude from search" option for our resources - something so that the resources could still be included in the full library and not hidden, but not something that is searched on a regular basis. My thought is similar to what I do with my itunes - there's a "skip when shuffing" option - so I can keep a variety

In at $20 - when I put my bid in it noticeably moved to touching the line - at that rate it looks like possibly 10 or so more people would put it over the top at $20.

LOL :) I'm about 30 miles NE of the epicenter. It was scary since we don't get earthquakes here often, so it took a little bit to figure out what was going on (can you believe that in my thought process the thought "what on EARTH are the kids doing up there!!??!" came before "oh wow that's a earthquake!") Some schools are closed tomorrow so they can

Adding my thanks too. I ordered everything - with two small children, and living in civil-war-history-rich Fredericksburg, VA, there's no doubt that this will come in handy at some point in the next 20 years of their education! I've also posted this on my facebook page to give a heads up to my many homeschooling friends across the country. To my surprise
