Timeline is in the Tools menu, center area under "Bible Reference" section You can also use the command bar such as "Open Timeline to 33bc - 33ad" (without quotes), or any other date, or date range

If an app has a conflicting shortcut, it wins. The Services menu will strip the shortcut keystroke. You may be able to adjust your system keyboard preferences, but I suspect some other app will potentially win that race too. You can always use the mouse to select the services menu.

I think the enabling of the debugging was overridden when you upgraded to the next Beta, RC, SR-1 The update puts a new application with original (non debug) logging level You can check by looking in your logging folder /Users/ /Library/Application Support/Logos4/Logging The Logos4.log should not have DEBUG entries (it is just a text file if you want

Apparently the SR-1 did not get put on the beta channel. If you want SR-1 you can set your update channel to stable, then run "Update Now" We will be releasing more 'beta' updates, but I'm not certain when or how soon that will happen.

We released 4.2a SR-1 yesterday (due to larger issue with indexing) but I think my fix was in that code. Can you test out your Devotional layout with 4.2a SR-1?

On Leopard, you may need to reboot, the services menu is generated from your applications when you log onto your computer. On Snow Leopard, you can update your Services from the System Preferences (or rebooting) System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Click on 'Services' then disable and reenable Reboot if disable/enable does not work

  • Re: Copy Bible Verses keyboard shortcut in MS Office for Mac 2008?

In developing this feature, I found that Office 2008 does not support or use the services menu at all. It does work with Office 2011 I suspect that Word 2008 does not use a cocoa TextField or TextView which provide the logic to interact with the services menu. It is possible to use the services menu without these, but Microsoft did not code that up

Thank you! I was able to use your layouts.db to load your layout and navigating to Lebanon caused a crash on my dev box, so I was able to debug and fix the issue. It was a timing issue with loading the next 'place'. I did not get it fixed in time for the 4.2a release but will be in the first 4.2a service release

I can try to use your layout. Please compress and attach your layouts.db /Users/ /Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/ /LayoutManager/loyouts.db We'll get this figured out.

good news! A while back you mentioned you had a layout that could trigger this crash, does that still trigger the crash?

Martin- Can you open to a blank layout and then type a command in the commandbar to try and bypass Egypt and Lebanon Command: "open BiblicalPlaces to Rome" I'm curious if this even loads. and if it does do you get any of the preview maps (along the bottom)? Crash when you click on one of them? Thanks again Glenn

Martin- I'm stumped, I don't know why you are not getting any maps. From the image, it looks like you don't get any of the map previews either. I'm curious to get a full set of debug logs, but you'll need to enable debug logging. Tom has posted instructions in this post No need to run Tom's steps 5 and 6 (indexer). Just start Logos 4 and reproduce the

When I first added this functionality I had Word 2008 and could not get it to work. Researching into it, I think that Word 2008 just didn't work well with the Services menu for anything (not just Logos). I've since upgraded to Word 2011 and it works with that. Additional Services Menu information: To be listed in the services menu you must register

I just checked when I added this to the product. It was first available in Logos 4.2a Beta 1. So it is not in the current stable release. The good news is, we just released 4.2a RC1 and hopefully will release 4.2a to the stable channel very soon. You can still use the Copy Bible Verses panel from within Logos 4 to copy and paste into Word
I will turn it off and see what happens with the next update
I'm wondering if this setting affected the download of the place resources. Can you move the two Biblical Place map files out of the resources folder to a temporary location and then run "Update Resources" from your command bar?

I had a typo on my part, the lbsplc is the correct extension. The file sizes and dates look ok. Did maps ever work for you? Do you remember when they stopped working? I've added some logging that will be in the next Beta release. This should be released today, when you get the update, can you reproduce the crash and send new logs for me? Thanks

Excellent information! Thanks very much. I still have not been able to reproduce this. I have added some additional logging in the area I see where you are getting the crash, but this won't be in until the next Beta release. I'm wondering about your BiblicalPlaces resource files. I have two. Folder: /Users/ /Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/
