Hi Kiyah.
Will there be a Figurative Language dataset for the Old Testament at some point? Is that something that is being worked on? Logos 9 maybe?
We have talked about this internally, but do not have any work being done on an analysis of figurative language in the OT at present.

  • Re: Errors in Lexham SGNT notes?

Hi Madison. I think there is confusion between the terms "root" and "lemma". In the notes, the "root" refers to an underlying form/concept behind cognate forms of the word, so the "root" here is representative of all noun/verb/etc. formations of the word. For example, the noun αγαπη and the verb αγαπαω

  • Re: Errors in Lexham SGNT notes?

Hi Madison. The root analysis of the Greek New Testament has similarities with (but is not a simple reproduction of) Trenchard's analysis (pp. 5–126 of The Student's Complete Vocabulary Guide to the Greek New Testament ). As the analysis is applied in Logos, we've basically gathered groups of related lemmas that are roughly linguistically related

I can only add that the "Septuagint with Logos Morphology" is Rahlfs, not Rahlfs-Hanhart. My understanding of the differences — which may be totally wrong — is that the text of R & R-H is virtually identical (with perhaps one change in Isaiah, but I don't recall where?) but the apparatus is updated/corrected/expanded and primarily where

Also, the different modes and types and contexts tagged by the data set are documented in the interactive's "About" pane. Not optimal, but that's where it is for now. Here's list for easy reference; these can be used in the "Label" portion of the search (like: "{Label Speech WHERE Context = "Theophanic" AND Content = "Petition"}): Type: The type of

Hi Rob. If you have the "Speaking to God" dataset (and interactive), then you can locate all of the places where "Moses" speaks with God with a search like: {Label Speech} INTERSECTS {Speaker <Person Moses>} If you are specifically looking for prayer of Moses to God, you can search for speech with the mode of "prayer": {Label Speech WHERE Mode
