Same problem with my iPhone (3Gs, iOS 4.2.1). Other resources that I have downloaded: no problems. Any solutions out there? Thx forum readers!

  • L4.2a Indexer Crashes

With just over 3,000 resources, I consider myself quite fortunate to have had no problems since installing L4 in late 2009. However, with the new L4.2a, I am now getting indexer stopped working Windows error message. Here is the last few lines from the indexer log file. Both the indexer log file and the crash reports are also posted. Can someone give

Robert; thx for the quick response … and I was afraid that was going to be someone’s answer. The problem is that there is no indexing going on, no Logos icon in the tray (indicating indexing) and CPU usage is zip (usually at about 100% when indexing). If you look at the index.log (attached), there are no resources needing to be indexed and indexing

  • Re: “Some search results may be missing or incorrect ... "

Thomas: Thx for the input. I went ahead with the “rebuild index” command, and Logos crashed. I restarted Logos and it stopped working again. This second time I had to totally shut it down through the Windows Task Manager. I started logging when I started Logos for the 3rd time and indexing started on its own. The program seemed to load just fine, and

  • Re: REQUEST: Make middle mouse button autoscrolling work in L4
I wish Logos 4 would do this so that I can open reading view, set the autoscroll and just lean back and imbibe the text.
I second that! My index finger is getting tired jabbing at the wheel trying to set it to do the continuous scrolling. Hopefully, this would be an easy fix.

  • Re: Layout and snapshots
I wouldn't mind a drag and drop layout save. Drop ontop of an existing layout to replace it.
Ditto that! Great idea! Spend too much time now retyping to save a layout I am using.

  • Re: Logos Crashes on Startup; HELP

Kevin: Thank you for taking a look at the log file. I checked the time stamp on that file and I think I may have sent the wrong log file. I have attempted to restart Logos again, and this time I think I have a good log file; it crashed and immediately brought up the “indexing your resources” notification. If you look at the end of the file, it appears

Kevin: Each time I start Logos I get the “indexing your resources” notification. Right now the indexer is running. I have attached the Logos4Indexer.log, but it might only reflect what is going on right now. I have the platinum edition, plus a lot of other books I have added over the years (about 2,700). Yes, I can afford the indexing time, but obviously

Thx Kevin. I'll let 'er rip and we'll see what happens. Perhaps we have a couple of issues going on here.

Still crashed; here is what I did: Deleted metadata.db Closed all programs and rebooted On reboot, Logos indexer auto started and again started indexing resources When indexing completed, started Logos using CNTRL key and checking the box to start in open window Logos started and shortly thereafter, so did indexing. Forced an update with "Update now

Success! To close this post so others might learn: Deleted library index contents at: C:\Users\ \AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\ \LibraryIndex Restarted Logos with CNTRL key Let logos re-index; left Logos with empty screen and minimized. Indexing took about 6 hours for about 2700 books. Closed Logos Opened Logos with CNTRL key (to start logging) Forced update

Michael: Glad it was helpful. We also need to thank Kevin for his initial guidance on this. I am still hoping the folks in tech support will weigh in and let us know what were the correct steps in resolving this issue. I am sure there are some good trouble shooting things we could have done to minimize the stumbling around. But ... it worked! That is

Thx for duplicating that. You did exactly what I did. The only difference is that when I drag the layout and try to drop it on the tool bar, nothing happens. Something else must be going on.

  • Re: Shortcut to open layout

No offense taken! Thx for thinking of that. I am however dragging the name from the left as shown in the Wiki: http://wiki.logos.com/Layouts__#How_can_you_create_a_shortcut_to_open_a_Layout.3f . But one thing I just noticed on the WiKi that I do not have and that is the little layout icon as shown at #3 on the Wiki instructions. When I “grab” the named

  • Re: Shortcut to open layout

Thx again for working with me on this. I have attached a screen capture done while I was attempting to drag the named layout to the tool bar. The layout selected is actually below the one highlighted in the screen capture. Unfortunately, the curser does not show up on the capture. There is nothing as you indicate such as the layout icon and name appearing

Hey, you guys are awesome! That worked! It is an interesting work around and a nice trick to remember. I sure hope I can figure out the glitch that is not allowing the normal method to work, but this is just fine! Thx so much!!
