For what it is worth..... Being a layperson who forks out all the costs for Logos out of my own pocket I have absolutely no interest with SAAS (Software As A Service) model for Logos. I know that is not what this is, now, but it sure looks like an indication of the future. I am in IT and deal with software vendors all the time and the SAAS model is

Thanks Rosie! I had heard of the Frontline piece but was fearful it was meant to simply draw doubt upon the faith (given that it is a PBS creation). I will check it out. I also will look into the others that you mention. Given the time of year the airwaves will be filled with documentaries and such that are meant to criticize the faith.

  • documentary

I realize these forums are for discussing Logos and the various products. But I do not know of any other forum that exists in the "home field" in which to ask this question. Does anyone know of a good documentary that focuses on the history of Christianity? I do not want a re-enactment or something that is meant to proselytize. I also don't want one

Yes, you are right. Option #3 brings back what I want but was not really helpful, at first. Let me explain. So I did a search for Nehemiah 8, Logos did its' thing and return the results and opened up my bibles and the commentary I prioritized. The bibles opened are all the ones I want (thanks for the tip on prioritizing them previously) and they along

I was fairly excited about this but I do not understand how this compares to the 2013 Deluxe Edition DVD which is a fifth of the cost on the Britannica website. This one says 19,000+ articles but the 2013 Deluxe says it has 82,000+ Am I missing something here?

Ah, good. Thanks for letting me know. One would never know that by watching the marketing video. Usually when marketing cross platform software you usually want to show that you are platform agnostic.

Interesting video about the product. But I do not have a iPad and do not plan on it anytime soon so pass....

Thanks, good information to know. So, it cannot be set to open more than one commentary? Thanks

The Expositor's Bible Commentary is what pops up. Below is a screen shot of my prioritizations: Then when enter Nehemiah 8 in the 'Enter Passage or Topic' box (located to the right of the logos logo and hit go, it does its' thing and then I get the below: You can see that the expositor commentary is opened and in the right place. But the "Bible Knowledge

Thanks everyone. #2 is what I was after and it sort of works. I was able to prioritize a bible and it now appears in the my passage results in the bible tab area. However when I prioritized the "The Bible Knowledge Commentary" it does not appear in the commentary tab area upon subsequent uses of Logos.

  • Default layout question

I am sure this is a simple question and the answer may be obvious but.... When I enter a bible reference and hit go, Logos 6 does its' thing and then returns a view with passage guide and a bunch of other stuff. One section is group of tabs for various bible versions, another area has one of my commentaries. All are opened and linked. I want to remove

  • Question on using Logos 6 to research an answer

So, first let me say, I am a lay person. No religious training whatsoever. But I like to study the bible and I own Logos 6. I am curious how I could employ Logos 6 to research this topic. I have heard a couple of times from Jewish friends (secular they are) that their faith does not believe in a heaven or a hell. There is Sheol which they say was simply

I believe you have 30 days to get a refund for whatever reason. Then you could simply purchase what you want. It might be simpler if/when support responds to pay a difference and move on.

  • Re: Question have option to choose graphics card when running logos 6

My 2 cents is this.... I would not use the discrete graphics for Logos. The discrete graphics (whether AMD of Nvidia) are really for gaming. Logo's does not really have any animation that would be benefited by the GPU. Using the GPU has the main graphics engine will eat the battery faster as previously indicated.

  • Logos 6 and reading plans

So I saw this blog post http://blog.faithlife.com/blog/2014/01/45-topical-reading-plans which looked interesting. I mentions 45 topical reading plans being available. I mentions it in the context of faithlife study bible as the place to access them. I have logos 6 and my assumption is that the faithlife study bible is a subset of Logos software. So

  • A 2 year release cycle?

I have seen many complaints about Logos 6 quality etc. I am sure there are many that are happy with it. However, in the posts I have seen there it is referenced several times of Faithlife/Logos having moved to a 2 year release cycle. Is this true? I ask simply because of cost. When I feature cross graded from my Logos 5 to Logos 6 it was very expensive

This and items in replies are very interesting. Where can I find tutorial/documentation of what the various searches (Basic, Bible, Media, Clause, Morph, Syntax) do and when to use them?
