• Re: Treasures from the Scriptures? Thoughts?

Matillo, I bought the volume on Revelation from this series in WordSearch when I was teaching verse by verse through the book. I prefer Logos over WS, but I buy books in WS if they aren't available in logos. I'm REALLY pleased to see it coming to the Logos platform, and I'm "in" on the pre-order. Mattoon is conservative in the sense of literal interpretation
Others will give you their 2¢, but my personal opinion: Do a clean install. Consider it "belated spring cleaning."
Windows notoriously slows over time. Its just a fact of life with Windows OS. 'Bama is spot on with his recommendation to do a clean install periodically (depending on your use case, how frequently

An outstanding resource is Josh Hunt's " Teach Like Jesus " which is part of THIS collection . Josh also follows these forums periodically, so you can contact him with questions, suggestions, or tennis tips. If you don't feel inclined to spend almost $100 for a single book you want/need in a collection, it is also available on Amazon for a pittance

Wise choice, brother. If I hadn't already invested several thousand dollars into Logos, I'd certainly jump to a monthly subscription as well.

  • Re: What would you tell your younger self about Logos?

I only have a couple of salient points of advice for my younger self. 1. Stop spending money on QuickVerse and buy Logos instead. 2. Stop upgrading my Logos base package, and only buy resources that I want/need and will use. Those bloated base packages that are full of books that have zero usefulness to me are only valuable as a meaningless bragging

Myke, 1, You've already hit upon the largest speedup component: an SSD. 2, Your next bottleneck is which CPU to choose. This year has been very good for competition between AMD and Intel, so you can get great deals on either an AMD Ryzen or Threadripper CPU, also Intel CPUs are decreased in price. For the money, I'd buy at least a 7th generation Core

  • Re: Does contacting customer service ever lead to a better price?

Definitely call and speak to sales. I was told by an unnamed salesperson there that they are authorized to give up to a 10% discount. However, the current base package upgrade is a 20% discount, so right this very minute you'd get the best deal by beating the deadline on that 20% deal.

I also raised my bid to $21. Let's hope that the combination of higher bids among those who are already convinced, and raising awareness on the forums will bear fruit... on purpose.

  • Re: Expository Preaching Layout Suggestions
Thanks Mark, which commentaries do you use?
Michael, It depends on which book of the Bible I'm teaching/preaching, and which commentaries I have that pertain to that particular book. I have a few reliable series that I rely on a good bit: NAC and PNTC for instance, also Kevin Wuest's stuff in the NT is reliable
