• Notes on iOS app

First, I love the new app! The team at Faithlife continues to amaze me with their dedication and the wealth of ideas that they come up with. An issue that I’ve had for a long time is how the notes perform in Logos. Since the notes are essentially like files in a folder, that means that there are not individual note files that get created. I can

  • Re: Logos Android App on a Chromebook

David, your site is blocking access to the video. It says I've exceeded the number of hits allowed for a human. That must be a mistake. I'm trying to access it on my Chromebook, so I'm very interested to see what you posted. Can this be fixed? Thanks!

  • Re: Downgraded?

Greg has hit the nail on the head. What we really need to do is to think differently than we used to think. We were all taught to think in terms of "packages" and levels. When I started years ago with the starter set, I had a plan to move up through the levels every few years until I could get to the top. So, a while later I upgraded to Bronze, and

  • Re: Why does Logos perform indexing multiple times during an update?

Thanks Andrew! That's good to know, since I was thinking that the second indexing should not be necessary. This makes sense, and I think I will take your advice to eliminate the "hit" of indexing twice.

  • Why does Logos perform indexing multiple times during an update?

This has happened to me several times, and I wish it wouldn't do this. I turned off automatic updates, because it seemed like an update would happen at the most inopportune times, following by a lengthy indexing, which rendered my computer fairly worthless until it finished. So, now, I wait until I see that a decent-sized update is available. It downloads

  • Re: Reference navigation window not working

Thanks! I would not have thought to look for the links in the Aa button, because I just assumed that the only things I would find there would be concerning the fonts. So, I was glad to find it when you pointed it out. Unfortunately, the linkage does not seem to work. Oh well...

Colby, how do you link the panels?

So, that means that commentaries, for example, can never be opened to a specific passage, right? It looks like the only way right now to use a commentary is to manually scroll through every page until I get to the one I want. I may have missed something, so forgive me if I have. Effectively, doesn't that make the web app little more than a Bible viewer

  • Logos 7 Home Screen

This is not just a Logos 7 thing, but I just want to say that the Logos home screen (in the software, not the home page for the web site) is awesome! It is one of the best parts of the software. I love how it brings up excerpts of books I own, as well as clips from some I don't own, videos from Bible teachers and Logos pros, and much, much more. It

  • Re: Is Logos Now worth it?
Yes I do believe that is what I said although in a different way. While everything you say is true (and you did not mention a get to temporarily use a mobile ed class per month, their choice), I personally feel it is a disservice not explaining that it is a rental. When you stop paying yearly you lose it all. So if you were to pass on getting

  • Re: Why you should not store ANY information in Logos

I can see both sides of this topic, and both have merit. It's true that the notion of privacy is largely non-existent these days, but I don't think that means that we should just shrug our shoulders and not think about it. My use of Logos continues to increase, and I'm moving more of my notes to Logos precisely because they're backed up to the cloud
If you on a monthly Basis from LN (like me) you can do so till the End of the Year, than you have to become a Member. So, Monthly means you can cancel every Month = 30 Days
That's true if you're already a member, but monthly memberships are no longer for sale. If I join now, I'll be an annual member, and there is

  • Re: Over $300 for L7 Features? Really?
Bob, you speak of upgrading to Silver which includes the L7 Full Features......do I understand that correctly?
Yes, for purposes of this discussion, whenever I refer to a base package upgrade, I'm assuming the "regular" upgrade, which includes the library and the full feature set. I realize that it would be cheaper

  • Re: Over $300 for L7 Features? Really?

My Bronze upgrade included the L7 full feature set, just like all the base package upgrades done separately from Logos Now. Without doing a base package upgrade, the full feature set would cost me just over $308. Upgrading to Bronze (again) would give me the FFS plus a few books for a total of $310, so it wouldn't make sense for me to purchase the FFS

  • Re: The value of Logos Now

Thanks Mike, I may just do that! I don't think they're offering the 30-day trial anymore. In another thread, Bob said they really couldn't offer that anymore, because some people would use it get a discount on a library package, then cancel. So, while that would be a nice option for me to check it out, I think I have to commit for at least a year, but

  • Re: The value of Logos Now

Justin, that would have been true before, but I was responding to the "all new" Logos Now that already included the Logos 7 features. Granted, the new Logos Now feature set was only available for a week or so before the release of Logos 7, so perhaps the representative I spoke with was still used to thinking about LN in the way you described.

  • The value of Logos Now

Here's something I'm having trouble understanding. About a week or so before Logos 7 was announced, I got an email telling me about the all-new Logos Now. Intrigued, I checked it out again, and even called Faithlife to ask if that would be a good option for me, since I am only on Bronze. I'd been keeping an eye on the Silver base package and hoping

Just to provide the full context, my price to go from Bronze to Bronze, adding the full feature set, is $310. I'm not coming from Starter.

  • Re: Over $300 for L7 Features? Really?

What I've done is to set "Automatically download updates" to "No". It still shows me when an update is available, but I can choose to accept it when it's a good time for me. I usually wait until the update size is substantial, such as over 50 MB, or something like that. That way, I'm not bothered by some tiny little update that triggers a re-indexing

  • Re: Over $300 for L7 Features? Really?

I think it actually is sustainable. In my case, I would have to pay $300 right now to upgrade to the full feature set. I could do that, and Faithlife would get $300 now, and nothing for a while. If I spend that much on an upgrade every 3 years, then a Logos Now subscription is basically equivalent. But, that assumes that my cost of upgrading remains
