  • Re: New Interpreter's Bible Publications

The folio software has already been abandoned by them, the dictionary uses a internet explorer interface that is practically useless. yes you can read it but it's slow to respond and you can not annotate or high light anything. I don't mind the folio interface but after having purchased the items I really don't want to have to pay for them all over

  • Re: Is Logos alone worth the purchase of iPad?

I haven;t had a chance to play too much with an iPad... the iOS (operating system for iphones ipod touches and ipads) is a nice interface and I am hopefully Logos will improve the Logos APP. You have to ask yourself several things about the iPad in connection with Logos, it uses a cloud model currently. So you must be connected to the net via wifi(

  • Oxford Bible Commentary

I don't know how and I don't know why (except through Logos hard work I assume) but this morning when I did my devotional studies on Luke 1:46-55 the passage guide had the Oxford Bible Commentary listed. This is a first for me i always had to open it manually when i wanted to use it. I am so excited. -dan

  • Re: Ancient Christian Commentaries - How do you like it?

It is a fine set to get a taste of the early church's writings. It seems to me some editors are more inclined to some of the fathers than others. As a commentary you might be disappointed because the time period writing style is very different from our own. They tend to read more like homily snippets, than what we might consider commentary, and that

  • Re: Bible Dictionary and Commentary Set, best bang for your buck

I haven't seen anyone recommend the Preacher's commentary, this inexpensive 35 volume commentary covers the whole bible wonderfully. No series is perfect but comparing it to Tyndale I would say Tyndale is a bit more technical and that's ok... but Preacher's has a bit of devotional quality and many homiletical hints. I own both but find my use of Tyndale

  • PrePub of The Reformation Study Bible & Interpretation

I was curious about 2 prepubs: The Reformation Study Bible, I own this one in Logos already, I have looked at the notes and found there was no difference I could see. Even the pages on CBD seems to indicate the only addition of maps to the text. Perhaps there is more to that. But with the second one the Intepertation series was nearly complete in Logos

SONG of SONGS SAMPLE Chapter 1. Clarifications: A basic introduction Please read Song of Songs 1:1 'In all the world there is nothing to equal the day on which the Song of Songs was given to Israel, for all the Scriptures are holy, but the Song of Songs is the Holy of Holies.' Another ipad alternative for you in the netbook class of computers might be the new Macbook Air expected to be released later this month. Anytime a new version of Logos is installed the old one ends up in the trash. This is likely what you are experiencing, if you don't have a usable copy of Logos living in your Applications folder, you need to pursue this, if you are taking the app out of the trash and putting it back into the applications folder you are in effect down grading to the
