  • Re: Logos. I give up.

I have not run Logos on a HD for years but I do remember the dramic difference but I would hope that is not seen as a requirement for optimal running Logos. Traditional HD while becoming rare are by no means a thing of the past. -dan

  • Old Testament, The New Collegeville Bible Commentary

I do not mean to be impatient as I know we were told that when it was available you would be letting us know here in the forums. But I was curious if there might be any clue when the the consolidated Old Testament, The New Collegeville Bible Commentary volume might be coming? -dan

No reference to it beyond the mention in the mention in the Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church even an internet search turned up very little on it. -dan

  • Re: Jesus Coming from East?

I believe it has more to do with Ezekiel 10:18–19, the prophet sees the glory of the Lord leave the temple through “the entrance of the east gate of the Lord’s house”; the glory then moves east of the city to the Mount of Olives (Ezekiel 11:23). Later, Ezekiel sees the glory of the Lord return to the temple via “the gate

  • Re: The Revised Version (1881-1885)

If it was something FL was extremely worried about they would kill it. While it was wonderful of you to do this the Logos edition has the translation notes and the Apocrypha which I believe both were missing from yours. So while it is somewhat what Logos is offering it is less complete. -Dan

Shouldn’t be too hard had it for years in Accordance, sort of surprising that it is not already done here in Logos. -dan

  • Re: Logos Bible App and the Faithlife Ebook app what are the differences?

And in the days before multiple tabs I found it super handy to do my main study in Verbum and have Logos set up as a quick start start bible layout. I still do this as old habits die hard. And the vyrso app for whatever book I was currently reading. The vyrso or now renamed ’Faithlife eBooks’ still remains a handy reader for books I am reading

  • Re: Why was Logos 8 Released?

I understand that FL had a target release date and likely wanted to be released well before the Black Friday to catch people at the most opportune time. But it really did feel released a good month prematurely. Now I understand that all bugs are never likely to be worked out but this was the first upgrade that made me seriously want to downgrade. At

From memory I think that would be fair to say, http://www.jhsonline.org/reviews/review095.htm is a fairly good review of the commentary. N a side note I have found all the commentaries I own by him to be very well written. -Dan

I did a restore on my iPad and iPhone over the last year I solved this issue by deleting the App and redownloading it. Thankfully on my iPad all my previously downloaded books started to redownload automatically, on my iPhone they did not and I had to manually select which ones to download again. I do know the program knows which items has been installed

  • Re: Logos 7 Free Version

You have many good resources that make a fine core to a Bible study program with the Logos Basic, for no cost you can expand the scope of your Library by getting verbum basic as well which will add a few more books. At this point you have two fair classic commentaries (JFB and Haydock from verbum). You also have a top rate Study Bible in the FLSB. The

While I have no doubt valid points were made (I did not review the thread) this is addressing a very different time. Faithlife now offers its free basic packages now as well as $100 fundamental packages to enter. Logos will always remain too expensive for people who want everything free, it remains a good value for most who want to use current tools

  • Re: Jews and the Jewish Encyclopedia

You are bound to get some ideas that seem dated. A full scale reversal on an idea is somewhat unlikely but as Christians change as scholarship leads us to new understanding so that will happen. In the two Jewish encyclopedias I have it often times is very hard to compare since they have different focuses and the older is much broader scope. However

  • Re: Not available in your country getting ridiculous

It all depends on the contracts you negotiate considering that FL has stated there is minimal profits from the ebook sector I suppose it is natural they wish to spend as little time as possible on it. But by excluding other countries they go from little to no profit for their man users outside the USA. In general FL seems to be the only Bible software
