  • Re: Verbum Practicum and the new Verbum Plus libraries

The Topical Index is also a resource (i.e. a book) in your library. The Topical Index resource will appear on the mobile and the links will work. So, even though the full topic guide of the desktop is not on the iPad, the actual cross reference resource will be there.

  • Re: WARNING: Verbum Plus is like a NEW INSTALLATION!

Verbum.exe is a new application that works in the Logos eco-system. In the same sort of way that you can have Vyrso and Logos (Bible) on the same mobile device and access the same books through them and with the same account, Verbum and Logos are now distinct applications. So, it is different than having two iterations of the same program on your machine

  • Re: WARNING: Verbum Plus is like a NEW INSTALLATION!

Sorry for the confusion. If you already have Logos 5 and want to keep it alone, there is no reason to run the installer. Just restart the program and the new resources will download into Logos 5. You can then Set Verbum to Yes in the command bar and have all the features of Verbum plus. However, if you go to the Verbum downloads page and click the link

  • Re: WARNING: Verbum Plus is like a NEW INSTALLATION!

Hello Don. All the features of Verbum plus are now present in the Verbum mode of Logos 5 when the Verbum Plus resources are present. So, with the addition to your library of the new resources, the new features will appear in Logos 5/Verbum. However, we also have launched Verbum.exe, a stand alone desktop application. At this point, Verbum.exe is the

Look for an addendum to Practicum soon that covers the new features.

  • Re: Catechism of the Catholic Church: Non-US/Canada

We are working on a solution. Hopefully we will have permission for Canada soon. The rest of the world is more problematic, but we are actively working on solving the problem. This is a real priority for us.

  • Re: Annual budget for Catholic resources?

I hope I don't come across as vague or evasive, but the honest answer is that we don't know. Our goal is to get as many important books as possible into the system. There are something like 32,000 books in Logos format right now, but only a fraction of those are Catholic/Orthodox. There are, of course, tens of thousands of such books that we would like

Fr. Matheny, I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the initial Verbum products. As some others here have speculated, Verbum is a work in progress. We have released the brand line in order to have a place where we can develop the product. You will see in the short-term significant improvements in LCV coverage of Catholic resources. We are

  • Re: No Catechism

Hello. It is true that we cannot sell the Catechism outside the United States. This has to do with the way that the Vatican has delegated copyright control to the various episcopal conferences. We have to receive permission from each conference in order to sell into their jurisdiction. Currently, we only have this permission from the USCCB. You can

  • Re: Catholic Library = Verbum

We agree about Latin. The Verbum libraries do have the Dictionary of Latin Forms, which is very helpful. Nevertheless, more Latin functionality is a priority moving forward.

The NABRE is not in the Verbum packages for copyright reasons. We would have loved to include it. It can be added individually, though: http://www.logos.com/product/9355/new-american-bible-rev-ed

  • Re: Logos and Catholic publishers - what to expect?

The digital versions of public domain texts are not themselves in the public domain. So, for example, the texts on corpusthomisticum.org are copyrighted by them. The complete works of Thomas Aquinas would be great and it is on my list of projects-- but I'm afraid even public domain projects are more complicated than they might seem.

Hello, Generally, we are trying to produce as much quality content as possible. There are certain publishers that have specific resources that are of particular interest to us and to our customers, as you have pointed out, and we do talk with them. You will be seeing more important works on pre-pub soon. For materials such as the works of Aquinas in

  • Re: USCCB Catechism of the Catholic Church - Any way to use outside the U.S.?

Copyright for the CCC is controlled by the various bishops' conferences. The USCCB controls the copyright for the United States and has given us permission to produce and sell the work. We are working on solutions for international sales-- Hopefully, soon!

  • Re: Navarre Bible New Testament, Standard Edition VS The Navarre Bible: New Testament

Hello everyone. The Navarre Bible New Testament is actually a new commentary. It's preface states: "The present volume does not replace the twelve New Testament volumes. Its commentary is different, although it overlaps with theirs to a degree; it often draws on the Catechism of the Catholic Church (which they do not); it is also shorter, but it covers

Hello Miguel, I'm so glad you like the Catholic Foundations Library. There are special upgrade packages in the works that will be released any day. But, since Foundations has only been available for about three weeks, you are still within the 30-day return period. Call up sales and ask them to return Foundations and purchase a larger library. -Andrew

The first volume of Jesus of Nazareth was removed from the collection for copy right reasons. We are hopeful, however, that we will be able to offer it separately soon.
