  • Re: Considering 2015 12" MacBook?

I was just looking at the 2015 12" MBs today. If I had read your post, I might have bought one. I keep waffling back and forth on this. I'm using a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 MBP, 15 in, Late 2011. I put an SSD in it and upgraded to 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM. It gets very hot when I'm working on it. I'm not sure about the screen size either. I just go back

  • Re: Crash: Cannot Start Logos 5 on my MacBook

My home page came up, the library is in tact, and everything is indexing. Looks like that was the solution, Dave. Thanks very much! I have many miles to go before I sleep tonight. It's nice to have my Bible program up and running.

Hi, Dave. I chose the second option. However, it's been preparing my library for quite some time. Is this normal? Thanks, Jim

  • Re: Installation

Thanks for the help. I decided to restart. When I did, I double-clicked Logos and it opened up. Looks like everything is indexed as well. Maybe it was just stuck in a loop or something. Anyway, it's running like a champ again. Blessings, Jim

  • Re: Installation

Actually, it's not indexing as far as I can tell (no % indicator). It simply says Preparing your library (this may take a while...) Thanks, Jim

  • Installation

I had to get a new office computer. I installed Logos 5 and downloaded my books (10 + GB) overnight. Came back and started Logos, and the Preparing you library box (This may take a while) has been taking 5+ hours. Is that normal? I'm afraid to restart. Thanks for your help. Jim

Thank you, Dave. This latter directive worked. I read my Bible and ran a few searches for about 45 minutes this morning with no crashes. Whew! Jim

Thanks so much for the help. I found the file and erased it. But I'm still having the program crash. Here's my log this time: 7510.LogosLogs.JOesterwind.20130623-220922.zip

Thank you, Dave. Where do I find that folder in order to delete it? I'm not really sure where it is on my Mac (I'm embarrassed to say). Blessings, Jim

Thank you for the link. I followed the instruction, duplicated the crash, and archived the logs. Here is what I saved to my desktop. 6052.LogosLogs.JOesterwind.20130623-153020.zip

  • Crash After Opening

I'm running Logos on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.8.4; 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7). I've been doing well with it for quite some time, but I've tried using Logos to prepare this weekend and I get my Bible and books open, work for a bit, then the program crashes. It just completely disappears. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm not sure where my log and crash

  • Re: Recommended Commentaries: Mark

I am preaching through Mark and have reached chapter 15. I've prepared 41 messages thus far utilizing various commentaries in my Logos collection. The main 'go-to' commentary for me would be D. Edmond Hiebert's commentary, The Gospel of Mark: An Exegetical Commentary. While a few of Hiebert's commentaries are available on Logos, this one is not. The

  • Copy Bible Verses Syntax

I am wondering if the only syntax available for CBV is what's listed in the Wiki/Help sections? That is, are there additional syntax options like changing the color of the font?

  • Re: The mysterious 'Cloud'

[quote user="Rosie Perera"] I'm not word searching, I'm just pulling these references out of my head, or out of the clouds as it were. OK, I confess I did look up the quotes in Wikipedia to paste here, but I knew of these books/references and have read the Cloud of Unknowing . My aunt is quite an expert on it; she studied Middle English at Oxford and
