• Re: Selling Logos 4 rather than upgrading to Logos 5

I considered that, but I don't feel good about sending any more money to Logos at all. Part of this has to do with not being happy with Logos, and part of it is that I've been convicted lately about buying up so many books beyond what I could ever possibly use at great cost when there are still so many people in this world with no church and without

  • Selling Logos 4 rather than upgrading to Logos 5

I've been a Logos customer for over eight years. I've decided that I won't be upgrading to Logos 5. The broken promises surrounding the Logos 4 release (especially the pre-publication feature advertised as "coming soon" and it turning out to be over a year), and the Logos 5 marketing strategy have left a bad taste in my mouth. In order to maintain the
Yes, but those who don't "do twitter" seem to have no problem with "doing nuisance" to their fellow forum members. If you don't want to "do twitter", you can "do ignorance" unless you can show a true need.
Funny. I'd consider your response to be a nuisance well before I'd apply that label to the others. If you don

  • Re: What PBs are you working on?

Woah! Will we be able to bypass Logos's distribution systems and import public domain content that DOES already exist in paid logos packages on our own? I have been hoping to use several of my PBB resources from Logos 3 in Logos 4 but there are paid Logos versions of these resources already out there. I guess what I'm asking is will you allow us to

  • Idea: flip up or down in reading view to switch books

I like how you flip or flick sideways to turn pages. Why not add a feature that lets you flip up or down to switch between resources? I could flip down from the ESV to read the Word Biblical Commentary on whatever passage I happen to be on, flip sidways while in WBC to turn pages, then flip up to switch back to ESV. It would be nice to set a couple

  • Re: Is Personal Book Builder dead?

I've gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in the way PBB keeps getting pushed back further and further (and now seems to be put on the back burner indefinitely with that vague "2011" timeline). Logos, please let use know what is going on. You told us to expect PBB many months ago. What's up?

  • Re: Pricing so high on public domain resources?

I frequently notice threads like this one on the logos forums. Usually my conclusion is the same: many people in ministry simply do not have a business mindset or understand business thinking. People are shocked that Logos would charge more than might be considered reasonable or that Logos claims outrageously inflated "print value" or "retail value

  • Re: does upgrade price take my purchase history into consideration?

I don't think there is anything nefarious going on. I never implied they were stealing. I chose to upgrade because it's still a good deal even with having to buy previously purchased individual resources again. That doesn't mean I think it's okay to charge customers again for resources they already own, it's just a case of the good outweighing the bad

In my case, at least, the upgrade price calculator did not take my previous purchase of BDAG into consideration for my upgrade to Platinum. I confirmed this with a Logos rep via email. I had to purchase BDAG twice (full price the first time and heavily discounted the second time since it was part of the package) and you're probably having to purchase

  • Re: New Improved Upgrade Discount Calculator - possibly not?

I'll jump in here since my comment on the latest blog post regarding the upgrade calculator was not approved to be displayed by Logos. I emailed customer service about this very issue, which only came up because they showed a little too much of that "secret sauce" and let the cat out of the bag that the "upgrade discount calculator" actually wasn't

I'm amazed at the number of unofficial Logos spokespersons, armchair lawyers, armchair DRM/copyright law experts, and judges of men's hearts that have popped up in this thread.

  • Re: Custom Upgrade Calculator - is it Correct?

I was told that the upgrade price I paid WAS NOT discounted for already owning BDAG (upgraded from Silver to Platinum). I'm assuming this applies to other individually purchased resources or combos as well as the BDAG/HALOT bundle I bought.
