  • Conceptual Problem

I am writing a lesson on Exe 37: 1-14, the Valley of Dry Bones. I have a number of resources that contain illustrations and quotes. Is there a way to search these resources to find where others have made applicable quotes or provided illustrations? My only idea was search each resource for the themes listed in Sermon Starter. . .

Thanks Graham. That worked when I searched Everything. Apparently though I don't have quotes or illustrations on Dry Bones. But I found a good resource: " Dem Dry Bones, Preaching, Death, and Hope" by LUKE A. POWERY Luke A. Powery, Dem Dry Bones: Preaching, Death, and Hope (Minneapolis, MN: Fortress Press, 2012), iii.

Thanks MJ. I have missed the Tip of the Day and the Best Tips of the Week. I learn more there in a shorter time than almost anywhere else! Please keep it up! -john

I would love to hear from Faithlife why this hasn't been done. It is a no brainer - win win for Logos and for Logos users. -john

  • Re: Highlighting

It seems that it would be relatively easy for Logos to make our highlights avaiable to us. The required information can be found in our Faithlife accounts under "Documents." Would it really be difficult to allow formatting of that information like the "Quotes" Notes formatting? Perhaps someone from Faithlife can explain why this would be too hard to

  • Re: IPV

Thanks for answering Mike. If I have ESV open in the top window and IVP Commentary on the Old Testament in the lower window and go to I Ki 12:1 in ESV I would expect the Commentary to jump to the same passage or if the Commentary has nothing to say about that particular verse, to jump as close as possible to the passage. But, mine Commentary stays where

  • "Add To A Note" rather than "Add A Note"

After highlighting text in a resource I can right click and am offered the option to "Add a Note." Rather than start a new note I would much prefer to "Add to a Note." In other words I would like my selections to be collected in an open note. Any hope?? -john

  • Would like to add to a note rather than add to a note document

When I select text in a resource and right click I am offered an option of adding a note to a note document. I would prefer to add the text to an open note within a note document. In one capture below I have selected text and then copied it into the open note. In the other capture I right clicked and chose "add a note" which doesn't seem to have any

My use is very unsophisticated. I keep a running Journal. Each month I create a new note titled with the name of the month within a Note Document titled 2016 or whatever. Each day I type in by hand the day's date and add any bible verses or commentary that catch my eye by either "copy Bible verses" or cut and paste. I've tried both clippings and highlighting

  • Re: Logos icon has disappeared from Win 7 programs menu & taskbar

It happens to me every month or two! I have tried to manually select my own Logo downloaded from Logos. Another approach was re-creating a desktop shortcut then pinning the shortcut to the taskbar. It is a bit frustrating that the Logos icons are unstable. You aren't the only one!

  • Re: How to make this stuff work.

Sounds like you need to sit down with a Logos user for an hour or so to get you started. Perhaps others in the Forum could direct you to a group in your hometown and you could link up at a Starbucks or something. I know I have introduced several people to Logos that way and I am by no means a power user. But I get it to do what I want it to do. -john

  • Industrial Grade OCR

We have all run across OCR mistakes and reported them as typos. It gets me wondering about the OCR capabilities of FaithLife or Kindle or other electronic book publishers. Are industrial OCR capabilities significantly better than the OCR programs available to us?

Enter the sales coupon code "NICSALE" at the checkout. https://www.logos.com/nicsale Quote It sure didn't say that in my personalized offer or the sales page anywhere!

  • Re: Would like to add to a note rather than add to a note document

Thank you MJ. That is pretty much what I do and it is a reasonable process. I use a new note each month rather than each day and append new passages as they catch my eye. Comforting to know that I am not missing some hidden shortcut somewhere. -John
