• Allow us to modify the info in the hover popup

In LDLS 3 we could change what was displayed when we hovered over a word in the biblical text (NASB95) through the keylink options. Please add this back in in 4.0, or allow us to disable the hover entirely. (I would prefer to modify the informatiuon rather than to disable the hover.) Thanks

  • Linking a commentary to bible text

Please forgive me if the terms are not correct - How do I have a commentary follow along as i move through the Biblical text. In LDLS 3 I would set the link and as I move through the NASB the commentaries or other tools would move too. Thanks for the help PS - you all convinced me to keep 4.0. Thanks. Thanks particularly to Mark Barnes for your comments

  • Re: Notes Compromise idea
Honestly, I do not like this idea, I don't want to depend on two programs for my notes when the solution is simple, just fix the problem and bring Logos up to the level that many other programs already are at. If you look at other paid for bible programs this is not a problem in most of them, and neither is it in some

  • Ability to customize the hover popup

in LLDLS 3 we could change the information displayed by the hover popup - for instance, when hovering over a word in the NASB95 Old Testament I had set the popup to display the Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament reference. I use this multiple times each day as I study both for personal use and for sermon prep. Please give us the ability to

  • Re: speed issue. What does acceptable performance look like?

I added a new video card to my desktop this weekend: I went with ATI Radeon HD 4600 - 1 Gig ddr2 memory. The good news - It made Photoshop CS4 Extended MUCH quicker. The somewhat good news - the info pane update on hovering over a word in a bible passage is now averaging about 3 seconds (with an occasional 10+ second hiccup) better than a 50% improvement

Tried again to update after unchecking the problem file, same problem, different file. I am trying once more, having unchecked all the large files and all optional resources.
Man, do you have to be wealthy to use this software?
At least well off enough to buy more computer than either of mine that ran LDLS 3 well.

Oops! I had hit update rather than going to the link Richard pointed me to. Now I found the checkbox for 1000 images. Thanks again you all. I will know tomorrow whether the update worked.

  • Re: de-prioritizing resources?
The solution is normally to untick the download that is causing the problem and trying again. You might find another one does so later, but again try once more with that resource unticked. Resources that successfully downloaded should be cached, so you won't be wasting bandwidth. Eventually you should get most resources downloaded

  • Re: de-prioritizing resources?

Just tried again for grins and the update stops at 99% of 1000 Bible images, meditates for a couple of minutes, then total progress goes back to zero and 1000 bible images starts over. Arrgh!

    Following the download instructions at
http://www.logos.com/L4/support/Logos4Resources
the update gets to downloading 1000 bible timages and then cycles repeatedly till I get tired of watching the "gauge" reset and cancel.

I can't access the new resources in L3 at this point. I tried to load them and the process goes into an endless loop at the same point each time.

  • Re: de-prioritizing resources?

Thanks Richard, I tried that but I found it to be just as you said, tedious. I am so spoiled by the hover feature in LDLS 3 which I have customized to give me exactly what I want. Keeping the information panel closed does deal with 90% or more of the speed issues for me, but I use it as a workaround for the non-customizable hover popup, so I seem to

  • Re: de-prioritizing resources?

Thanks you all for the suggestions and information. I have appreciated the helpfulness and concern of you all through my attempts to make Logos 4 work for me. After reading the warnings and stuff about the beta versions I am going back to LDLS 3. With only a few days left I have to make a decision. Again, thanks for your time and help. Sincerely, Pastor

  • Re: de-prioritizing resources?

You are getting the same thing I do - English resource first. I do not want to see the english resource in the info pane at all, or at least move it to the bottom. All I am interested in 90% of the time are my favorite greek or hebrew resources - to get a quick view to see whether I want to look further.
