• de-prioritizing resources?

Is there any way to keep a resource from showing up in the information pane? Or at least move it to the bottom of the pane (where it won't show up till after I am done reading the prefered resources anyway.) when I hover over a word in the NASB95 the first resource that shows in the info pane is the COED (Concise Oxford English Dictionary) or a Bible

  • Re: Some interesting performance info.

I have tried everything on the wiki with no appreciable difference in performance. I cannot upgrade my hardware this year as I have a i year old laptop. I upgraded from Scholars gold to platinum which used up my descretionary budget for software for the year, and trying to update LDLS 3 hangs at the same point repeatedly so I gave up. I went back to

  • Re: allow users to define more parameters

in LDLS 3 when hovereing over a word in the NASB95 Old Testament ( my favorite translation for sermon work) or KJV I have set the hover popup to display the entry from the Thological Wordbook of the Old Testament as the first priority. Verbs also show tense, voice, mood. Great for a quick look at words (almost instantaneous). In Logos 4 when hovering
Without the functionality of the notes from ldls3 Logos4 is just fancy paint!
I agree. The lack of ldls 3 notes is one of the key reasons why I do not use 4 for sermon prep or anything else other than trying to learn the program.

  • Re: allow users to define more parameters

The one I liked best in 3.0 was the ability to set what shows up in the hover popup (not sure I have the right terms) in the NASB. The info window in 4.0 is too slow to use (at least for me) but the hover popup is quick. If I could change what shows there it would make 4.0 usable for me (at this point I only use 3)

  • Re: Information Pane very slow to update

turning off the information pane and using the interlinear gets close to what I am looking for (other than having to click rather than hover). Thanks. Any idea when 4b will be out?

Thanks Mark, How about the ability to change what appears in the hover popup? (not the information pane) That would be number 1 by a mile on my want list.

Dominick did you upgrade to 7 on an existing machine (perhaps a dumb question)

Mark did you do the test w/o the hard drive upgrade? (the thought of changing the hard drive in my laptop makes me shudder).

  • Re: Information Pane very slow to update

Melissa is there or will there be a way to change the info in the hover popup? Libronix allowed this and it was my favorite part of Logos 2, I used it multiple times whenver I used the program (every time I worked on a sermon) The info pane is too slow and gives me unwanted entries before what i am looking for (i.e. an english dictionary entry ist when

  • Re: Customizing the Information Tab

Thought this would help but no - the dictionary still comes up first - unlike Logos 3 where I could tell the hover popup the resources I wanted to see and the order. I do not need an english dictionary when I am working with the NASB95 This makes the difference for me between a tool I can use in sermon prep and one I won't

  • Logos 4 on Windows 7 vs. Vista. Any speed difference?

i can't upgrade my hardware due to budget constraints, but I could afford the Windows 7 update. Anyone know if it helps with Logos 4 speed issues? My systems: Toshiba laptop, 4 Gig ram, AMD Turion x2 dual core mobile RM-72 2.10 Ghz, Windows Vista Home Premium service pack 2. 320 Gig hard drive Hp desktop – XP professional SP 3, 3 Gig ram, AMD 64 X2

Has anyone noticed any speed increase when upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista? In the Beta (How do I get this?) can you limit the info that is shown in the info pane? The first info I get when hovering over an OT word is not at all helpful. If I could limit the info pane to my favorite resources as i could with the mouse hover in Logos 3 it would make

  • Re: speed issue. What does acceptable performance look like?

My laptop is less than a year old and I blew most of my computer budget for the year on the Logos upgrade (gold to platinum) so I will not be doing any hardware upgrades. Photoshop CS4 feels fast compared to this.
Are noticing anything sluggish in particular? Or does the program just run like it's big and bulky?
My issue is with the Information pane update speed - where 3.0 hover was really snappy on both machines to get equivalent info from 4 takes 8+ seconds. I also have internet turned off.

  • speed issue. What does acceptable performance look like?

I have been attempting to spped up Logos 4. I have tried most of the fixes referenced on the Wiki (tablet stuff, compatibility settings, etc.) and have seen no appreciable change. I have been trying to speed up the Information pane – it takes 5 seconds to begin to update and 3 or more seconds to complete the update on both machines, while the hover info

  • Re: Hover popup: is it possible to change the info displayed?

The information tool is slow for me (often 8 plus seconds) compared to the hover info I can display in 3.0. It also starts with the english definition of the word - not what I am after. Thanks though.

One of my favorite features in Logos 3 was the ability to change the info displayed when hovering over a word or code in the NASB and KJV. Is there a way to do this in 4? thanks
