Rather harsh and unkind. After all, the Message professes to be a paraphrase, not a translation.
Without being harsh or unkind I will state NavPress was touting The Message as a translation just last fall when we had this same discussion. I am not against reading a paraphrase. As a youth I read The Living Bible through

OK, Let's leave the doctrinal issues out of the thread from here on out. Even though there are defensible arguments for each stand, it is not needed or productive to continue bringing the theological into the thread. (And, yes, I do know I'm guilty of the same in other threads. So please take this as a humble constructive request.)

Congratulations Tes, That is 1000 very interesting posts. It is quite appropriate it should be about what "1K" means.
K=Thousand as in "Kilo" (Kilometer etc.) It's just a bit of shorthand.
Was it in the Garden of Eden, walking in the cool of the evening? Or perhaps they were saying Melchizedek was Jesus? Genesis 14:18-20 , Wiki also has an article on the Melchisedechians.

She would be much more likely to use LOGOS if I could share a few key Bibles and commentaries with her. I am much more likely to install e-sword because of its cost and the ability to select and choose what I install
