This is a bad idea for new users
I think that this is a great idea. A new user will quite quickly find how the help function is dealt with in Logos. Having this as a searchable resource is the first step in producing a user manual, which IMHO is one of the biggest gaps in the Logos software at present. Hopefully

  • Re: FREE book!!! Keep Your Greek!

Finally got it after a few tries. If you are on their mailing list, you would think that you would get the book as a promo. Thanks for your help!

Is it a discount code or link? If so, could you post it? Thanks!

This doesn't appear to be free. Did you actually get it and, if so, is there are coupon code or link?
Logos 7 should definitely include some kind of ebook manual that goes into depth with the software. The days of having to pay a third party big dollars to teach us how to use the software should come to an end.
Totally agree! I don't want a video course. I want a detailed manual that contains all of the not so obvious

  • Re: selecting a verse or two winds up selecting a paragraph or two
I am confused by what you wrote, so for clarification: You can turn "smart select" (not "smart search"!) off in preferences and return to the "old" behavior.
The problem is that Logos 6 defaults to smart select even if you had deselected it in Logos 5. Personally, I did not even remember that I had deselected smart search
Documentation of so much of this software is MIA.
This is my biggest beef with Logos. They have abrogated their responsibility on this issue.

  • Re: What's the point of a "topic" search?
If you do an "Everything" Search for , you should get one hit in the Factbook section.
That appears to be where the problem was. My default search is "All Christian except Bibles and Fiction" as I generally exclude Perseus from my search as well as all of the various Bibles. I am surprised that the Factbook is excluded

  • Re: What's the point of a "topic" search?
Did Logos suggest that as a topic?
Yes, that was the point of my post. Logos 6 suggested it in a drop down underneath the search window but following the "advice" of Logos 6 didn't provide any results.

  • Re: What's the point of a "topic" search?
Sure... but only if you are searching for things which have been tagged with that topic.
So the flaw is in Logos 6 suggesting a topic search for which there are no references for the topic. The moral of the story is that I should ignore all of Logos 6's topic suggestions?

  • What's the point of a "topic" search?

I was doing a search for " Socrates Scholasticus" and Logos 6 volunteers - Socrates Scholasticus (Church historian) - as a topic search. When I selected it, the following appeared in the search bar - for which there appeared a grand total of 0 results. So I go back to my original search for " Socrates Scholasticus" and I have 34 results in 31 articles
I appreciate your feedback; it helps us prioritize the many features we wish to offer on mobile.
Thank you for listening, Bob. I really do love the product on the desktop but, the mobile experience is increasingly frustrating. We really look forward to some progress in this important area.
Did I mention I want my money back, Logos?
I don't want my money back but I do want Logos to listen a little better to its customers, particularly those that have shelled out a lot. I have cut my spend way back because Logos does not appear to be headed in the right direction. The experience on the desktop and mobile devices
That is correct but I didn't think that was the question Taxee was asking
I was interested in whether there was a way on your mobile device to attach a note to all translations. I find it increasingly frustrating, when the world is moving to mobile, that I am stuck using a desktop based app with only marginal functionality
I shared the small list with group Logos Word Lists for Flashcard , a BBG-Greek learning group (unfortunately currently inactive) and with Faithlife Beta of which you're a member, so you should be able to get it from the Faithlife or http://documents.logos.com page.
Thank you! I will definitely try this out.
And it would help if this stuff was documented by the programmers and a paid technical writer rather than relying on a user created and maintained wiki. I will never understand that.
• Re: Fix notes so they are not attached to a single bible version
When you create a note you attach it either to the selection (single translation) or to reference (all translation) by you choice on the right click context menu. Top 2 options are selection, 3rd one is reference
Does this work if you write a note on your mobile device? That's where I end up making most of my notes.
