Thanks for the suggestion Thomas. I supposed that using the site: search in Google, one can use their advanced searching options or "search within results". It's a good idea: I will try that. Blessings, Francis

  • Improving Forums

I read today that blog Logos sent to advocate using forums as a resource. I have benefitted from the forums myself. However, if forums are to be presented as a resource, there is a corresponding need to improve them so that information can be found more quickly. I am not entirely sure as to what would be the best way to do this, perhaps an advanced

  • Re: Can I get my new book on Logos 4 on Logos 3

I would suggest that when this takes place, an announcement be made both on the forums and by the email daily blog. I think that many of us would like to avail ourselves to this as soon as possible. Phil, I would add as an incentive for Logos' work on this script that I think there will be folks who will be interested in the great deals that have come

  • Re: "My Content" search failure?

Thanks for the ideas, Chris. It did NOT work. I was sure I had created the note under the Bible reference, not the text selection, but just to be sure, I did it all over again. Didn't work. I thought perhaps my notes are not indexed. I ran Logosindexer. Didn't work. Perhaps I needed to start L4 again, or run sync, or run update. Did it all. Still does

  • "My Content" search failure?

According to the help file, " My Content" includes user-defined Notes, Handouts, Clippings, etc. that contain the search term in title or body of the document. I have a note on Luke 1:9. I used the PG on Luke 1:9 and it came up with nothing under "My Content". What am I missing?

The link to the L3 upgrade guide has been changed. Just go to the general wiki page: http://wiki.logos.com/ and from there select the appropriate subsection.

Today I stumbled by chance into the answer to the questions / ideas I proposed here. Logos has made an official wiki available and guess what you'll find on it? http://wiki.logos.com/LDLS3_Features_in_Logos_4 So, I'll scratch the document approach. Time to go to the wiki and fill in the blanks! There is much to be done but it won't be too much if many

  • Re: Logos 4 Newly Beloved Features

In addition to the following, these tabs work in an amazing number of different places. For instance, a right-click on an item in the interlinear section of a Bible provides options pertinent to the interlinear data. For instance, one can right-click on a Hebrew lemma and "Bible Word Study" will be one of the options. Do it from that spot and you save

  • Re: Logos 4 Newly Beloved Features

I like the tabs inside the context menu. At first I did not notice and understand that I could click on an item on the RIGHT (eg, Strong's number, passage reference, etc) and see a different set of corresponding options on the LEFT. As long as I did not know that, the context menu looked bare to me and lacking in some of the options I used to appreciate

    1) I use the prayer list daily. I have several prayer lists and not all are in Libronix. But my ministry related prayer lists are. 2) The most extensive use is for research for personal and ministry needs. This past week, I did an extensive study of racham the attribute of YHWH in Ex 34.6 which translates "compassionate". This included reading on the

To this we may add instances where the indicative and the imperative have identical forms and the translators or morphology databases writers pick one.

Yes, it is VERY funny but revealing! Since there is so little that is available under settings, it did not even cross my mind that the solution to any problem I might have might be there! Let me sit down: I need to recover from this shocking revelation [<:o)]

  • Logos 3 to Logos 4 help file

I took a look at the Logos 4 wiki ( http://sites.google.com/site/logos4wiki/ ). It's a start, but a long ways from what is needed. I am presenting this proposal to other users to evaluate the level of interest. I am attaching a stub of a help file. I created it in MS Word 2003 format assuming that it is a format that is largely accessible and allows

On a different register than syntax search considerations, I question whether an exhaustive list of the Lord's commands can be produced in that way. It seems to me that commands can be formulated in other ways than using the imperative. Using WOC is useful to find the references outside the gospels, but from past experience, one has to define first

  • Re: Hidden tools?

I agree with the question you ask, Dave. Here is another related one: biblical people, places and things open by default in a floating window. While I can manually dock them everytime, I would prefer to have them docked by default. This is where settings and options come in handy. Perhaps there is a way to do this and I just don't know how or where

  • Re: Hidden tools?

You how some programs have a simple and an advanced interface? I think we power users need access to an advanced interface with more tools and settings at our disposal. Another way to do this is to have a "More" link at the bottom of the menus to access additional settings and commands while leaving the main interface uncluttered. I say this because

  • Hidden tools?

It occurred to me that the "Update Now" command comes up as "Tools Update Now" yet it is not listed under the Tools menu. Hence the question: are there other tools that are not listed?

  • Bible (and other) reference detection

Just wanted to report that when pasting a document that contains Bible references in a note file, many references are not detected as such. I have found that I often need to put a space between the reference and punctuation for it to work (curious, I noted this behaviour in other Bible software before). This is a comparatively small item and can be

Yes, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase, I miss my speed search! Like someone else mentioned, it is great to quickly change terms. Example: I want to find passage that speak about Jesus and God. I could do Jesus, Christ, Son, Father, God, Lord. This would give me a lump of hits. Speed search allows me to do quickly see sets (Jesus, Christ +Father); (Jesus, Christ

I really appreciate Sean how to serve as liaison between the forums and Logos, as well as the other staff who do the same. Thanks Logos for being in conversation with us. Your explanation concerning concepts was rather clear. I think that it contributes to confusion to call topics word searches. Clearly they are not topics and it would eliminate the
