• Re: Command or Exhortation?

Yes, Lee is correct. The propositional outlines labes are interpretation. The distinction between command and exhortation can also be based on canonical and theological considerations. For instance, one might choose to consider that it is mainly the Law that contains commands. Another criteria would be whether what is urged is universal or clearly spoken

  • Re: Logos Free for (Homeschool) Families

Thank you very much. A note to fellow users: although it has a good number of resources useful for all, it also designed for American families. For instance, it includes the American Declaration of Independence and other resources on America.

  • Re: Is there any way to get back to see a list of recently updated datasets after you've dismissed the notification?

I was told no when I first asked about this. If this is really important to you, you can manually check the dates of the datasets through the "About Logos Bible Software" link under the Help menu, but it is tedious to scroll through them all.
NETS
The S stands for Septuagint that's how you can tell them apart (of course no NT in NETS).

I think John was asking about resources available in Logos.

  • NETS is out!

Unless I missed it previously, it seems to me that it was due to come out but had not yet. In any case, found it this am in my update notifications. Nice to have a more up to date English translation of the LXX with academic credibility.

Thank you, Rick. For my part, I rely less on these updates now that there are indicators of what was updated in L8 but I suppose there must still be L7 users who are happy to get these.

  • Re: What Resources Do You Use For Application?

Would it be helpful to start a faithlife discussion group to share and discuss principles of application and use specific examples for practice?

  • Re: What Resources Do You Use For Application?

Well, you can be given a fish or be taught how to fish. But may I suggest that unless you are able to see for yourself the application of a passage, you are not ready to preach it? If I may suggest one approach, after you are done with your exegesis, you can reflect on application through such questions: 1. What was the originally intended application

Use the canvas tool to create your own visual of the genealogy. If you want to see whether you find something already made to your liking, you can also try this search:

If you have not done so already, clicking on chronological entries in the Timeline Tool will show you which resources the entries are derived from with links to them. This may reveal resources you already own that do what you are asking.
I'm wondering if there is any advantage to using logos and, if so, how it would be used.
You could use Logos as your article database which can be tagged and searched based on Logos functionality (as opp. to searching files and their contents within a folder). You could do this by either using the sermon editor to

If you mean a journal article, their publishing guidelines would indicate in what format(s) they want submissions. Depending on the answer to that question, it may not be convenient to write your article within Logos.

Not sure which mobile OS you run. In Android, I am not aware of the ability to pick and choose what notes appear: it's all or nothing.

Hi John and welcome to the forums. Would you able to provide a screenshot that illustrates the issue? Your description is clear but a visual may give us clues as to what is going on. Also does this apply to all resources in the desktop program or some but not others? Finally can you specify if (a) you run it on Windows or Mac (version OS) and (b) which
