It doesn't seem all that wide to me. Do you have something different to what it looks like for me? I have lots of room for toolbar icons.
Yes! Most definitely: Running 8.1.0.0016 (Windows).

  • SUGGESTION: A shorter command box please

I generally like the UI changes in Logos 8. However, as many users have noted, menus and buttons tend to eat up more space. This certainly applies to the command/search box. Does it need to be this wide? It leaves less room for the toolbar (which is cramped enough as it is). It does not need to be wide for short commands and long ones don't fit anyway

  • Re: Why Can't Searching Be Made Functional?

I only ever use the mobile version if I have no other option and often walk away frustrated. But repeated messages about the lack of functionality seem to have been largely ignored. The search feature and offline use are absolutely dismal.

  • Re: Using my Library as a Cross Reference Tool?
I guess one could do a custom guide
In Logos 8, this is no longer necessary: simply type the name of the section of a guide you want to use in the search box and it will appear on its own. You can pin if you use it often.

  • Re: Thank You Faithlife for Denominational upgrade bundles and Fundamentals gift opportunity!!
I was curious which Starter Bundles do you think have the best additional resources I got the Silver Standard Package already
Well, it's a bit complicated to give a straight answer to this because the discounts vary depending on what you already have. This in turn influences how good a deal one may think this or that

The Important Passages section in the Passage Guide is designed for this.

  • Re: library

Hello William and welcome to the forums. Depending on what package you purchased, you could have a substantial download. Then there can be features that require installations (restarts of Logos) and the whole library will be indexed. The more new resources, the longer indexing takes. So, if this is your very first time using this software and your library

  • BUG: Note icons toggle does not stick

I've been suspecting this for a while but had a very clear instance of it just now. I have been using the NRSV for my work continually in the last few days. I have notes icons turned off to reduce visual clutter. Just now I reopen the NRSV and there were on.

  • BUG: Context menu headword search searches plain text

As mentioned here when one right-clicks on a headword, as expected, the word appears twice in the context menu: (1) as "selection" (2) as "headword" Invoking a search from selection works as expected to retrieve whatever word or phrase was selected (a plain text search). However, invoking a search from headword does exactly the same thing and does NOT

  • Re: Headword search extension
If I right-click inside a encyclopedia entry and then choose headword and then start a search in all resources, shouldn't the search now automatically search for instances where this word is a headword instead of just searching for the word in any text?
I think this qualifies as a bug as I cannot see why the word would

  • Re: Dis-Connect e-books

Thanks, Jake, for the reply and explanation. I understand that the primary purpose is to give access to Logos 8 but to the extent that additional benefits are listed as part of the package, there is an expectation that goes with it. Lexham and Kirkdale Press have much more to offer than the meager selection in "originals". Could not originals be a larger

  • Dis-Connect e-books

This is my second month with Connect and I must say that I find its "ebooks" benefit a joke. First, the selection of originals is too small. Between what I already own, what I could possibly be interested in, and the fact that apparently 80% of this month's 8 offerings are the same as months, "picking" one's "gift" is a depressing exercise. Feels like

That's it! Go for it, Dee! Joke aside, one may ask a Corvette for Christmas and not get it. To replace the 2015 car, they get the 2018 edition. Not as glamorous that's true but doesn't mean it's not an upgrade and nicer.

I don't see myself using canvas a great deal and I'm not sure about workflows, but yes, I think L8 is an improvement and I would not like it if I had to go back. I too find it overall faster (I agree that canvas drags though) and cleaner UI (despite some of the space lost in bars). I like the font improvement. For me, faceted searching is a huge improvement

Breaking News: FL to offer confessionally-adapted theology guides! LST to be renamed PST (Protestant Theology Guide). Rumour has it, it will be replaced by RST (Reformed), LST (Lutheran), BST (Baptist) and AST (Anglican) in due time. VST (verbum), OST (Orthodox), and SDAST in the pipeline. The EST (Ecumenical), JST (Jewish) and AST (Atheist or Agnostic
