but the above post says Windows Logos on a Windows Tablet is terrible
It might be worth clarifying whether this comment refers to running the Windows Store Logos app (which I thought was retired) or doing what you mean, with a full Windows and full Logos installation.

David must be running the minimal android Bible app, but I am not sure whether that's what Ken wants as opposed to running the full desktop version.

  • Re: Fuzzy results for an existing phrase?

It is only in the last couple days that I noticed fuzzy search results appearing on top. Is that a new feature? If so, I don't like it. I had another search (can't remember what it was now) that produced fuzzy search results that were incomprehensible to me. I have always be dead opposed to any feature that relies too much on knowing what goes on behind

  • Re: Oh Sifra and Sifre, where art thou?

Sifra and Sifre are still not available in Logos. This is regrettable since they pertain to the Tannaitic period and are so often cross-referenced in other resources.

  • Re: Fuzzy results for an existing phrase?

Thanks, Mark. Do you know why the references are not in canonical order (both 2 Kings 2:7 and the subsequent 2 Kings 2:5 are from the NASB)?

  • Fuzzy results for an existing phrase?

Perhaps I am tired and missing something but I don't get why I obtain fuzzy search results here but otherwise 0 hits under verse search (parameters are set to match all word forms / equivalent references BUT NOT to match case):

  • Re: Notes "Edit Attach Points" takes forever

You may be experiencing what can be seen in other auto-populating fields in Logos. It searches for possible matches (even when what is entered seems straightforward) and this takes inordinate time, especially the first time one does it in a Logos session. You can check whether this is the problem by (a) attempting to edit an attach point and waiting
- My impression; SABC is more involved with south asia than ABC is with Africa. And if you're toward the American evangelical perspective, you'll be nervous, more so than ABC. - It's not a stand-in for south asian religions vs Christianity. Rather, Christians in south asia. • What is the best Christian resource on dinosaurs?

I am looking for a scholarly treatment of the question. I am not interested in vague references to Behemoth and Leviathan or endless questioning of datation, allegations of fraud, etc. I am interested in a resource that takes the evidence seriously and deal with it with scholarly rigour in relation to the Christian faith and creationism. Put differently

  • What happens with online features if Logos went belly up?

It is not altogether clear to me how many features of Logos actually depend on connecting to Logos servers. I know this is obviously the case (so far) with the android app, but does this apply at all to features of the desktop version? Just wondering how functional Logos would remain if the company closed down like Bibleworks did.

  • Re: AYBD or ISBE, Revised?

Anchor is more academic than ISBE. So, you will learn more about scholarship in the first and will tend to have more a "Bible study" feel to the second (although many entries are written by capable scholars as well).
anything would be wonderful....anything
I sympathise with the sense of desperation, but it could be a mistake to get "anything." It is rarely a good idea not to do the job right from the get-go. This being said, it's not like there are many options to pick from out there. It would probably be best for FL to produce

It will be interesting to see whether it is included in Logos 8 packages (assuming the latter comes out first).

  • Re: JOB: Two Questions

The concepts of prophecy and of miracle are major problems in biblical studies today. Christian scholars believe in both although some have Jekyll and Hyde positions when it comes to that. Many others believe that any prophecy is ex eventu, miracles are legend, and if there is a God, it is naive to believe that Yahwism represents Him. This is a constant

  • Re: JOB: Two Questions

Hi David, A couple thoughts on the topic if I may: Theories on the role of Satan and its relationship to the serpent depend largely on assumptions about (a) when individual books of the OT were written and (b) an evolutionary approach to "Israelite religion." Both of these have considerable endorsement and are staples of much of scholarship on the OT
