• Re: BUG: 5.2a Beta 2 Mac fails to recognize installed fonts

We ship a versions of Ezra SIL and Ezra SIL SR internally in the Logos.app bundle so that is why the font is always available in the app, even if you don't have it installed.

Jack, Thanks for the update. You can reinstall Ezra SIL if you need it for Word, I just wanted to confirm the behavior you are seeing. We've been able to reproduce the behavior internally, including the sporadic nature of it, and we're trying to isolate the cause of it.

Jack, Do you have any warnings in your logs on startup the look like: "Skipping due to duplicate font family "? If you remove the "Ezra SIL" from your Font Book, does it "fix" the issue with Logos? What version of Ezra SIL did you install? Also, what version of OS X are you running? Tom
I'm curious to know if this bug is squished in 5.2 SR 4?
No, not yet. We have discussed pulling the fix back into 4.6 and 5.2, but we wanted to get at least one more 5.2a beta release under our belts to see if the fix caused any other problems. So far the results look promising.

Jack, It looks like both of these crashes are related to the new tagging changes in 5.2a B1. Should be fixed in the next beta.

Jack, I think this is manifestation of the same bug that caused the "Add note to …" options to disappear from the context menu. It'll be fixed in the next beta.

Bob, By " severe deficiency in being able to make notes" , I gather you mean the missing context menu options reported here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/79085/553613.aspx#553613 . That is fixed internally and is different from the reported crashes I mentioned above.

Jack, I haven't been ignoring you. I've been on the road to Texas to visit family for Christmas the last two days. In this case I was able to narrow down your crash reported by the Logos Mac crash reporter dialog, which does include the Apple crash report if it's available. Because the crash was in the Mac native code (not in the shared Windows/Mac

  • Changes in the upcoming beta

We're preparing for the first release of the next beta of Logos Desktop sometime next week. This code has some significant under the hood changes for the Library and there will likely be some bugs/instability as we progress from beta to stable for this release. You should treat these betas as pre-release and potentially unstable software. I highly recommend
