  • Re: Linux version of Logos Bible Software

Does Faithlife now own Logos? I see people mentioning it and before this I have never heard of it. I use the Logos app on Android, I guess it is the same thing as the Faithlife app. The Wikipedia page you cite further down has Linux beating Mac. Further investigation to this shock showed Linux includes Android. Source Date Microsoft Windows : 57.12

I'd up my pledge to codeweavers, i have forgotten the location of the pledge page by now. How do you send your books to Kindle? I have Kindle for Windows installed under WINE, it works great. David

Get your Windows CD or DVD, run virtual box, search with google or virtual box help file or wiki to set the settings, the details work but you must pass through all devices like the DVD drive and networking so you can register Logos and download books. Put your Windows disk, install Windows as you would normally, including any reboots and registrations

Carlos, Aquí está la traducción al Inglés de muchos aquí. Gracias por tus excelentes puntos. Yo también corro de Windows en la máquina virtual sólo para usar Logos. Here is a translation into English for many here. Thanks for your excellent points. I too run Windows in virtual machine just to use Logos. As a former Latin Logos Bible Software user ,

Kermit, What you say is true, but I like Linux because it is so stable. It never crashes on me. I am not against paying for Logos, I have a copy of Logos 5, but I rarely use it because I rarely use Windows. Even when I use Logos 5 for Windows, I don't like it much because I don't like Windows anymore, and I haven't gone to Mac because with Linux you

Graham, I could hug you - I went to biblia.com and signed in with my Logos username and password - AND ALL MY BOOKS WERE THERE. That's nice - now if they can give me some of the functionality of Logos in "the cloud" I will be a happy camper. Also if I could DOWNLOAD my books and open them up with - oh, yeah, it's a web page. Drat. I guess as long as

My wife uses Windows. My parents use Windows. My grandma uses Windows. My sisters and my brother use Windows. In my large extended family (probably 50 computers between aunts, uncles, and cousins) there's only one person who uses Logos, and he prefers Linux. I have use Linux 99% of the time, but I have Windows 7 installed in VBox (Virtual Machine) on

I use a micro SD card with CyanogenMod on it. I run Logos and Kindle on it fine. Just remove the ROM updater application in CyanogenMod and keep checking the Market app for update, uninstall the update as it doesn't allow apps to run. I wish Logos were native to the Nook Color. David

Hello Carlos, Yes, "Virtual Box" is an answer and it works much better than Windows running alone. I have Windows XP installed inside Linux Ubuntu and I use it for running Logos. I wouldn't mind Logos in the Cloud either - but it does make it difficult to access material I have bought when I'm not around Internet access. Linux is mature, stable, and

Pinguy is just Ubuntu Linux variant. Any Linux can have Windows apps with WINE. The problem is and has been that WINE does not run Logos. So we are back to square one. I looked into Mojo pack - but it seems any computer it works with must be Windows XP - which also defeats the point. Windows on a USB stick would solve the problem but no one has done
  • Re: New Prepub Request - Logos for Linux

I guess the biggest problem is that for some reason Linux doesn't do encrypted media very well - but in Logos the media isn't encrypted. It is the license key and that engine. I see no reason why Logos programmers can't make that bulletproof. By the way Linux is bulletproof. I never have problems with Ubuntu or Debian. It runs for days and days and

Windows 7 already has Framework installed. I don't know what version of Framework it is. For what it's worth, I also have this problem. I get as far as Indexing. I just tried again, and Windows 7 announced that it was inatalling a new update, Logos4 icon came on and said "removing old program" and installing new program. Then Logos4 started up. I hope

If you click SHIFT (or was it Control) when at that screen the "Later" turns to "Never" and you can get rid of the prompt. But then once open, I don't see any books at all. None. Best wishes, David

I am also having the same problem. The program asks for a serial number. I tried the previous tricks about clicking control or shift - but all Logos4 allows me to do is put in the serial number, or choose "later". If I choose later, I see none of my books. Best wishes, David

MJ Smith, That's a wonderful idea. That's one of the points of a "sub thread" I introduced in this discussion - the revolultionary change in publishing - it's happening as we speak with the newspapers. I want decent, honest, balanced media that's searching for the truth - and willing to bring me all the facts. I'll pay for it. I live in a town where
