• Re: Free Talmud Resource: Daf Yomi!

It has not been forever for me, but I'm still wondering why Logos has to be slammed, being accused of a 'Misleading marketing message'. My goodness, did you take the time to read the product overview? Just because you don't see the value in something, it does not mean that Logos is doing something underhanded or means that another Logos 'cut' has to

I was using MacAffee (as provided by my ATT u-verse account). I deinstalled it and installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Then specified in MSE options not to scan any files being opened in the Logos storage folders. This action really sped performance up for me.

  • Re: Notes with verse preview

As a 'vote' not to trim forum topics, here is a good example. I could not figure out why when I was adding a note, the selected words were not transferred as a preview in the note topic line along with the verse reference. Searching through prior posts, wa-la, found exactly what I needed.

  • Re: When were the angels created?
while disinterested commenters wring their collective hands over the sad witness of Christians bickering in public. Better not to go there (again).
'Disinterested commentators' are not disinterested otherwise we would not be reading the posts. It is just very hard to read and be 'interested' with all of the bickering

I would like to thank those who responded fairly and equitably without first assuming the worst and immediately raking Logos over the coals.

L4 was slow for me so I reviewed the performance notes. I am running a Dell Inspiron 5300 (yes, probably 6 or more years old. Logos loaded today in 50 seconds, and that it was syncing for 2 new Vyros books . I am using the Bible Study package and now have 371 books. Computers need constant vigilance to maintain the best possible performance. Even with

  • Re: Logos Software in Library

In the publishing world, since publishers are intrusted with equitable handling of an author's work by contract, everything comes down to royalty payments due to the author. Even if a title is public domain, Logos still may have a subsidiary rights contract with a publisher because of the editing that has been performed by that publisher on the work

  • Re: Interesting Mystery To Me

Wow Mark, thank you so much for a welcoming message. After posting I realized that what I really wanted to start a new post because I really did not want the message to be seemly directed at Evan, which it was not, but just an overall generalization of my observations over the past month. Newbie error. Sorry about that Evan.

  • Re: Interesting Mystery To Me

Being new to observing the activity in the Logos forums, I have an observation to point that I would like to share. There seems to be a lot of responses that on the surface appear to be degrading towards Logos staff and treat Logos as the 'them'. I would be particularly embarrassed to have those still outside of the family of God to read the posts.

Regarding new versions of Logos, if a base package was purchased for L4, will that base package transfer to L5 without having to purchase another upgrade?

  • Re: The Biblical Illustrator - 65 books of the Bible (35 Volumes)

Thank you for such an awesome resource. You may want to add to the 'box' the specialized fonts that may not be part of user's font installs if you have them readily available or even aware of them. 1&2 Peter needs TITUS Cyberbit Basic. I was able to find it, install, and it compiled then without errors. I would imagine that as the PB are compiled, just

Just for clarification, when you are going 'off line' are you changing the 'Use Internet' option to 'No'?

  • Re: i keep wishing for a quicker loading version 4..

If I read Microsoft release notes correctly, WPF uses Direct3D, which was not available until the release of DirectX 10.0 (Vista and above). I was running Windows XP, 2 weeks ago partitioned and installed Windows 7 (dual boot as a test). Logos 4 loads and runs with vastly improved performance over the Windows XP partition. Otherwise, without Direct3d

Unfortunately I finally understood what CP was a few months too late to pick up 20 of the collections that have passed through CP. I have bids, CP pre-orders on 14 classic commentary collections now. I am looking forward to browse through these texts. Your bro, Gregory

  • Re: Logos4Indexer.exe crashing with .NET Runtime 2.0 Error

Thank you for your help with a Logos Forum newbie. The log showed where the problem was. For a test, because I just had a few PB added, I removed all the PBs, then I renamed the \PersonalBookIndex folder and relaunched Logos. All is well. I then deleted the renamed folder. Added PB books back and index completes without error. Your links are most appreciated

  • Logos4Indexer.exe crashing with .NET Runtime 2.0 Error

Greetings, I have not found any recent posts regarding Logos4Indexer crashes, nothing with .NET Runtime errors. I have started to create personal books, and the problem did start around this time. Now it is at a point of crashing repeated in very short intervals. Perhaps I ruined the indexing with the personal books. Do I need to have indexing start
