  • Re: Basic, not too technical lexicon that's keyed to Strong's numbers

In doing a bit more mousing around on the Logos website I came to the same conclusion as Dan, the Mounce's Concise Dictionary is probably the best choice, along with a reverse interlinear; the ESV is a reasonable price. Buying individual resources is pricey, but I'm having difficulty finding the specific resources that are included in the Basic package

I go back even further, over 20 years. My package was called "Original Languages" back in 1997 or 1998. I think I must have picked up the interlinears somewhere along the line more recently

  • Re: Basic, not too technical lexicon that's keyed to Strong's numbers

Many of my translations (ESV, NRSV, NASB, KJV, NKJV, NLT) have in-line Strong's numbers, in my Logos 7 setup, but I don't remember how I got that functionality. I want the group to be able to search on Strong's numbers or English keywords, basically so they can simulate an English concordance, or an Englishman's Greek concordance. I'm looking for just

  • Basic, not too technical lexicon that's keyed to Strong's numbers

I'm a pastor with a long history with Logos, and my church has asked me to teach a 6-week course on bible study. I'd like to set the participants up with the FaithLife Bible study app, but I want them to have access to a somewhat non-technical lexicon, and to be able to search on Strong's numbers. All of my dictionaries and lexicons are much too technical

  • Change the font in Notes files

I have dozens of Notes files, each with hundreds of individual notes attached to Scripture references. Back in Libronix I began using a default font that was 10 points in size, which was adequate. In the last two versions of Logos, these notes appear very tiny, and for new notes I've begun to use a larger font as the default. My question is, for existing

  • Re: Logos not recognizing fonts in personal books

This doesn't create a huge problem, because the personal book files are usable. I haven't included a screenshot, because all the formatting from the .docx file, as well as font colours is fine. But the personal book compiles with just a single font in the entire document, instead of the 6 in the orginal .docx file. The .docx file itself is nothing special

  • Logos not recognizing fonts in personal books

Hi: I just upgraded to Windows 8 and reinstalled Logos 4. Everything is working fine, except that Logos isn't recognizing a handful of installed fonts in my personal books, and when I try to rebuild the books from the Word documents, I get warnings that these fonts are not installed (even though they are) or embedded. I tried embedding the fonts, but

  • Re: Hideous Note Indicators

I'd like to see the ability to change all the note indicators globally in a note file, instead of one at a time. Or am I missing that feature somehow? Now that we have more indicator options I'd like to be able to apply them to a whole note file at once. I've moused around trying to do this, but no success.

    Thanks, my highlighting is back

  • Re: Highlighting all gone after 4.5 upgrade

Would that have caused all my highlighting to default to plain yellow? The real question, though, is how to get the highlighting back.

No. My custom palette is called "Jon's Custom Markup Styles." Logos 4.5 just randomly generated a Notes file called "Miscellaneous Highlights."

Originally some of the highlighting styles may have been created in LDLS3 and imported into Logos 4, but all my custom highlighting styles have been heavily modified, saved and resaved in Logos 4.

Logos 4. The highlighting I applied as late as yesterday is affected. The graphics I had added to my custom styles have all completely disappeared from the margins of my Bible where I applied the custom highlighting as well.

  • Re: Highlighting all gone after 4.5 upgrade

No, the palettes are fine. Only the actual highlighting over the Bible text has changed to a basic yellow. I can erase the basic yellow highlighting and apply a custom style from my custom palette fine, but as I said, it will take days to fix that way.

  • Highlighting all gone after 4.5 upgrade

Today I upgraded to Logos 4.5. I have extensive custom highlighting styles (which are still there), which I had applied to literally thousands of verses in my preferred Bible. However, after upgrading, all the highlighting in my Bible has been replace by plain yellow highlighting. Please tell me I can get my highlighting back! This will take days to

  • Lemma search in a single Bible book

Just wondering what the syntax would be to search for a specific lemma within a single Bible book. Thanks.

  • Logos 4 Personal Book Builder

I've built a couple of books in Personal Book Builder, with Bible Milestones. I added these books to a collection and also to MPG. I expected the books to show up in MPG searches and "Cited By" searches, but they don't. Is this possible? Thanks

  • Re: John Piper sermon collection and Grudem Systematic Theology

The John Piper sermons were developed for Libronix 3, and will be missing some features in Logos 4. In Libronix 3 the software insalled a custom home page linked to the Piper website that included options to search sermons by date, title, reference, topic, etc. This is no longer possible in Logos 4. The sermons install in Logos 4 as a basic series of
