  • Using L4 graphics in printed books

Even though this question is about L4 graphics/charts/illustrations, I've put it in General because it seems like the thing to do. My question is: What is the policy about using L4 graphics (like a family tree, for instance) in a book that will be published for profit? I heard Bob say something about commissioning the graphics for Logos at Camp Logos

  • Re: Gen 1:1 aleph tav

There's a lot more to the aleph-taw than Heiser and some others think, particularly in G1.1. But I suspect he also thinks Isa. 28 is really about baby talk. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

  • Hastings in Community Pricing

I just found numerous offerings of J. Hastings (more than I new existed!) and I am thrilled. I would hope everyone who reads this post would sign on for the max bid for each item...his stuff has always impressed me. CP is the perfect place to list his stuff...I think I may have even made this suggestion a few months back. One thing: the main item I

Touche', Dan. Good stuff... Years ago, I used to sell computers when the 286 was the common fair and the power users stretched up and snagged a 386...sometimes with a WHOLE MEGABYTE of RAM! Anyway, this mild and unassuming fellow ambled in, and he told me he was a pastor. He said he had put off buying a computer for a long time, mainly because of the

  • Re: "Mark-up not available"?

I don't see how--but it is possible. Did you use L3 for the example you presented? OK, something odd just happened. I tried to select and mark-up a few items in Lev. 26 and got the usual "Unfortunately, visual markup is not supported by the current selection" pop-up message. Then I tried to do the same in Lev. 25 and the markup took. But when I tried

  • Re: Wrong Strong

Well, you at least managed to be partly right. The lexicon you mentioned--with a right click, some tracking, and a left click--does provide an accurate definition. But that isn't the lexicon that appears in the pop-up window when I hover the cursor over a chosen word--that lexicon, by Logos's own design, happens to be Strong's...which for a loooong

  • Re: "Mark-up not available"?

Sorry...didn't think to add that bit of info. NASB Is there any other?

  • Wrong Strong

As the graphic below shows, the word "evil" is tagged incorrectly in L3 when using NASB. The automatic Strong's pop-up window (one of the worst tragic losses in the move to L4) shows the same mistake as the Info window shows in this pic. I think the mistake relates to a consonantal homograph in the Hebrew (r`h). The Strong's listing above matches TWOT

  • "Mark-up not available"?

In Lev. 26 of L3, I have found that all or a large part of the chapter cannot be highlighted. Is this a problem others have? What can be done to fix this problem?

Ron, Sorry my response is so sloooow. I haven't been on the forum much lately...working on a book about this and other topics. Email me at mindfruit@live.com and I will give you a brief explanation.

  • Re: Non-Linear Reading Plans?

While you "answer gurus" are at it, I have wondered if there is a mechanism/option for having a Torah portion reading plan. It would likewise not be completely linear, what with torah, haftarah, and b'riytth hhadishah portions, not to mention 1 year vs. 3 (or 3 1/2) year reading cycles. Any insight appreciated.

  • Daniel PrePub

I noticed that the descriptions of the two books included in the recent "Daniel" PrePub are switched. I noticed something else...the total page count of the two books... ... 666 . Coincidence? I think not.

  • Re: Notes Compromise idea

I've written on this before in other threads, but since it is a HUGE ISSUE, I don't mind doing it again. Notes isn't just important , it is AS IMPORTANT as the whiz-bang search capabilities that Logos has. In fact, I don't use L4 and its better searching function at all (less than 1%) because of its anemic notes functionality and a number of other issues

  • Re: Still using L3? Prefer L3?

Certainly, MJ, my fervent hope is that enough forthcoming changes will tip my attitude toward L4, at least to the point that I am making significant use of it, even if I never adopt it completely. I think it clearly won't ever adopt all of my desires--Bob as much as said so...though I suppose things can change. I am thus cautiously optimistic...or maybe

  • Still using L3? Prefer L3?

Just curious... Anyone out there who is finding it hard or even impossible to bring themselves to adopt L4? I am using L3 about 99+% of the time. I open L4 every once in a while, but I usually regret doing so because it just reminds me of what it's not. Not just that's it's not L3...but that it lost so much of what I love (i.e. use) about L3. In fact

  • Re: Some History

It wasn't my first purchase, but I remember taking the leap and dropping what at the time I thought was HUGE BUCK$ (the 90's were a quaint time, yes?) on the Scholar's pack that had the cool Bible bookshelf tie (circled in blue). I loved that tie...got a lot of complements on it back in the suit and tie days of church. I haven't seen that tie in years
