  • Re: Min Cross Grade Is Live

What it cost me 6.41 to upgrade my Silver to include the missing feature? Awesome! Thank for considering our feedback Logos. Regards

  • Re: Black Friday Like-a-thon

Maybe most Logos users are too old, and therefore, not "hip" enough for this type of promotion? Ok my use of the word "hip" was probably not very youthful on my part. Just one old guy's opinion with Facebook who will not be "liking" anything - sorry Logos. Regards

  • Re: Resource Update Issue -- Again!

Best way to ask a question to Logos and avoid the community of users is to call or e-mail them directly. Regards

    C.S. Lewis materials.

  • Re: While I wait for the L5 Cross Grade options...

Some of the most important work occurs in Sunday School, so please do not be a "lay person" but get up and teach my friend. :) I have way too many commentaries, including those you have listed. If you are just starting to build your commentaries Tyndale and NAC are both conservative and informative and could act as a "foundation" until you add some

  • Re: Logos 5 Occasionally Vibrates

I have noticed this as well. Thanks for posting. I have also noticed that the Information panel seems to "labour" a bit. Perhaps not surprising given what it is now presenting, but it is (I believe) the only aspect of Logos 5 that seems a bit sluggish for me. Regards

  • Re: Is this desirable (social pressure)?

A number of thoughts come to mind as I read your post Unix. Last year I took advantage of a good deal concerning a Nelson bundle featuring the WBC series. I entered into a multi-month payment plan. While it was a payment amount I could afford, I promised myself that I would not enter into such a lengthy plan again. Therefore, I chose just a Silver upgrade

  • Re: So, how many of you are sticking with Version 4?

Further to my post yesterday, after further investigation, I migrated from L4 Platinum to L5 Silver. For me this was an acceptable price, with only one data set missing, which I hope to purchase later for a whole lot less than what upgrading to L5 Gold would have cost. The additional $100 or so I paid, assuming the cross grade is around an $100 or so

  • Re: Finally! My new video introducing all of the new features in Logos 5

I enjoy all your videos. Thanks for the effort; this video was very insightful. I agree that word feature in the Information panel is great - i.e., how a particular word is translated differently in other translations. It is something I would use the Text Comparison for but this method is even better. Maybe Logos will add this as a "right-click" option

  • Re: So, how many of you are sticking with Version 4?

Despite my concerns on the manner that Logos 5 has been released, I do not intend to remain with Logos 4 once the cross-grade is released. At that time I will be able to assess what is the most prudent method of upgrading and do so then or by Christmas time. From what I have been able to see from user videos, it is the little things the Logos team have

  • Re: Disappointed

Why was Logos 5 bundled in this manner? We all know why, right? I mean the "elephant" has been sitting in the room this whole time and we have managed not to talk about him. Alright I will say it but this will quickly be branded another conspiracy theory or expression of greed by certain users who frequent these forums. It is because creating an ecosystem

  • Re: Disappointed

I apologize for not being clear. I, and I believe there are many other existing customers, would like to see future major releases of Logos (Logos 6, 7, 8 . . .) offered as a standalone, fully functioning, program on launch day, just like so many other programs and operating systems. Obviously, this would not be free, I only suggested that there could

  • Re: Disappointed

It has been mentioned by Logos in another thread that they have made the promise some years ago to always keep this program free. My hope is that some good would come from all this negativity lately, and that they would actually break this promise, and have all future versions of their wonderful program, with all its functionality, available on launch

  • Re: How many books are in your library?

Josh, perhaps the better question is "How many books have you read cover-to-cover, and where appropriate, put into practice in your life?" My guess is that there would be a whole lot less bragging.

  • Re: Maybe it is time for Logos to Change its Business Model

Tony I appreciate your comments about being able to purchase upgrades to the Logos program when new releases are made available to the public. For what's worth I agree and would appreciate this being offered for future updates. Of course, it was most unfortunate that their server(s) were down intermittently during launch day, presumably due to unusually

  • Re: Does Logos have TNIV?

My background, and still my preference, is literal translations. However, I continue to enjoy including the NIV (now 2011) when reading a book (usually with the NASB, NKJV, NRSV, NIV, NLT). As a reader one just cannot ignore the quality of this work. It just reads well, and conveys accurate meaning remarkably well with some notable exceptions.

  • Re: kindle?

It can be done Taxee; the process I use to transfer my sermons to my Kindle is the same process I could use to transfer books from Logos to Kindle. But as you said, it takes around "15 minutes or so to export a book which is a bit of a pain." Imagine if there was just "Kindle" (or generic e-book format) as an export option where the whole process just

  • Re: What is your "Must Have Resource"?

What has helped the most is the Visual Filters one can create in Logos. Of course there are a number of resources I would mention, but outside of commentaries the Anchor Dictionary and BDAG come immediately to mind. Though I suppose if there was just one resource it would be the tagged Louw-Nida numbers/hyperlinked context-sensitive word meanings. A

  • Re: kindle?

As a Kindle reader (e-ink), I too would very much appreciate purchasing once and using "everywhere." Seems whether we are talking books, music, or other digital information, the various companies are not cooperating at the level consumers would hope. Specific to your inquiry, Logos is now in the e-book business too with Vyrso so I cannot imagine there
