  • Re: Tidying Up Logos

Thanks for the responses so far. Pretty much what I thought but wanted to be sure. And you are correct Graham, “Do you mean the field on the Home Page where [we] enter the passage reference?” My apologies for being vague. None of these things are causing any real problem, just bugs me I suppose when I open a resource and I am on page 138 because four

  • Re: Love my December purchases and resulting Christmas credit…

You had me worry for a moment Paul. Yes, the original set that was bundled with Platinum until I decided to upgrade to it. While I think it is handy to have a complete OT/NT commentary set (Tyndale great value, NAC good series), I purchase and prioritize my Logos library based on the top 2 commentaries as rated at BestCommentaries.com. Obviously I add

  • Tidying Up Logos

Folks what follows will only reveal my questionable pursuit of tidiness that would make for a good clinical study for a psychiatrist. Nevertheless, I must ask these questions which have haunted me over the last year or so of using Logos 4. After a study session I usually like to tidy up and setup for the next session. I routinely Close All (made a link

  • Re: Love my December purchases and resulting Christmas credit…

Earlier in December I started a thread about my disappointment with the "12 Days of Logos." While most of the items on special were of little to no interest to me personally, I did take advantage of the credit program and the payment plan. In the end purchased the Works of Ironside and the Nelson Bible bundle (primarily for WBC), along with a few other

  • Re: 12 Days of Logos Underwhelming?

Good (general) discussion folks. Mark the credit program certainly is a nice (new) feature. In my wishlist I have the Works of Ironside and HALOT. With a December 1 purchase (Pillar Hebrews), which I made prior to learning about the credit program, if I decide to purchase Ironside I will get HALOT about 1/2 off in January. Indeed, not bad at all. Notwithstanding

  • 12 Days of Logos Underwhelming?

Well, with the posting of the last offer in this year’s “12 Days of Logos” I must admit of being underwhelmed compared to last year, which was also my first Logos Christmas. If I didn’t have Pillar (Platinum plus Hebrews) that was a good offer. The NIV Application commentary series is not something I was thinking about but will consider it a bit given

  • Re: Running list of the Twelve Days 2011

Thanks for the post Nicky. Downloaded it last night for my kindle. Perfect since I would have wanted for the e-reader in any event. If I enjoy the book can someone confirm that it is sufficiently tagged to make it worth the bother to add to Logos (obviously the price is right).

  • Re: 12 Days of Logos Review

Folks, one thing that I am not clear about, and can't accurately remember from last year - when they say, "A dozen deals for a dozen days. Check back every day for limited-time savings! Start building your library with amazing deals for 12 Days of Logos !" does that mean we can ONLY purchase the daily special on that ONE day, or can we purchase any

  • Re: Writing Sermons Survey

Like many I prefer to use Microsoft Word (2010) to compose my messages. Usually I will be cutting and pasting from a Clipping file used during my study (side note: wished and have suggested that L4 reorder our clippings based on Scripture sequence as usually my study is not "linear" in nature). Recently after editing I save the document to .rtf and

  • Re: Is there a Logos 4 lite?

Lots of good suggestions. If you are still reading Sally to me the best answer is for you to create your own layout (Passage Guide and Exegetical Guide) using the few resources/panels you want for study. This should improve performance, especially depending how you set things up with respect to links and options. For example, within your customized

  • Re: "not responding" still occurring

I too receive this message when a number of resources are open. Usually after 5-10 more seconds (or so) the program continues as expected. If this is what you are referring to perhaps the first fix is to somehow rename the issue "Working" or "Processing" instead of "Not responding." Having said that I believe this message is being generated by the OS

That's a very good suggestion Graham. I will need to explore this option further.

  • Re: Book Builder - Adding Graphic

Transferred my small collection of sermons into L4. They are all identified as being part of "My Sermon Series." I am using the same graphic for each sermon (book). I had to add the graphic to each PBB document. Is there an easier way to associate this graphic to the entire series and have it automatically show up for all documents in this series? Alternatively

  • Re: How to Prevent an Unnamed Collection from Being Created

Thanks so much Graham. Thread only a few months old. My apologies. Silly default. In the past I have also suggested (the obvious) that Layouts should be read-only to prevent accidental deletion. That or the option not to have Layouts automatically created. Anyway.

  • How to Prevent an Unnamed Collection from Being Created

My apology if this has already been discussed. I could not find the answer through a search of the forums. A have made a bunch of Collections. However, I notice that whenever one opens the Collections module Logos 4 automatically creates a new collection called Unnamed Collection. In fact, it will continue doing this each time you open up Collections

  • Re: What to Prioritize; What Not to Prioritize

Paul here's another viewpoint on prioritization, especially for users not yet acquainted with their libraries or "perfectionists" who will invest and re-invest a fair amount of energy into creating and maintaining their prioritization, especially as their libraries grow rather large. Now before I proceed please understand I definitely see the benefit

  • Re: What commentary(s) do you value as being the most faith-filled/faith-full?…

Believer's Bible Commentary by William MacDonald. You will be hard pressed to find a more Christ centered, Bible believing, (one volume) commentary. With regards to the inclusion of commentaries after my personal study I presently enjoy reading from the New American Commentary set then the BBC. Another gem, especially with so many similar Study Bibles

Rosie I can only speak about my region. Here in Saint John, New Brunswick (Maritimes) it was the little guy (NBTel now Aliant Telecom), with the help of provincial government sponsorship, that laid the fibre optic network some years ago. I understand this was one of the first installations in North America. Today the company is installing, at their

  • Re: Canada bandwidth limits

Bandwidth limit? No, there is no money in that scenario. At least how it is being discussed in this thread. As a customer of Rogers, Canada's largest Internet provider I believe, they want to charge people who use more of the Internet. Due to our family's usage requirements, that has meant paying for their highest residential service to avoid exceeding
