Thomas, yes they were there, but considering the prolixity of my message, it's quite understandable that you'd miss them! In any case, I do appreciate your response and the responses of others as they were very constructive and not condemnatory. I really wanted things to work out between me and Logos 4 (which is why I kept buying the good deal packages

Ron, thank you for your thoughts, and I am sorry my manner of expressing myself offended your sensibilities. I can say that when I started Logos 4.1-SR3 up today, I did not go 'looking' for these problems. I merely wanted to study and annotate John Owen, and I found myself running into bug, after bug, after bug. I did not state in my post that nothing

  • Logos, is it too late to get a refund?

Hello everybody, A little background: Since November of last year, I have spent ~$4000 at Logos.com. I essentially gave up actually using the product 6+ months ago because I found that whenever I attempted to use it, I would spend more time filing bug reports (most of which were never answered by Logos), dealing with inconsistencies in the interface

  • Re: Searching takes me back to Logos 3

Just so you don't feel alone Jim, I echo some of your sentiments. It seems that for some people, many esoteric features are what drives their admiration of the product, but for just simple, day-to-day stuff (such as windows opening, typing into dialog boxes, etc.) the lag time due to what I would term poor resource contention locking management, makes

  • Re: More RAM or SSD?

Hi Michael, because you stated that your machine is going to be primarily Logos centric, I would say that the SSD would be the way to go because faster access to the disk and indexes will be of far greater benefit than additional RAM, especially considering that unless you have many programs running simultaneously, 4 GB of RAM will be plenty for a 32

Just so you don't feel alone Chris, I too have a more than adequate system that is blistering fast with every piece of software other than Logos 4. If I need to do some basic bible research, I don't use Logos, I use Google because with the delays in the various boxes appearing, the windows taking a long time to populate etc., I can get it done much
I heartily agree! I feel like I've been a non-designated Beta-Tester ever since I "upgraded" . . . I too am anxious for L4 to have L3 functionality, then I can use it on a regular work basis.
I sincerely don't want to discourage the OP, but I think a more accurate title for the post would have been 'News for 4.0b
Can anyone confirm?
Ken, I still am running 4.0a and when I hover over a title in the 'Commentaries' sub-panel, I get no popup whatsoever. The fact that in 4.0b there is a popup is nice, but once you've used the product for more than a short time, it seems that a popup telling you about the commentary would be less than

  • Re: note typing lag

It is quite frustrating. I would suggest that you make the layout you're using when this occurs available (a screenshot would be best). Make it the most simple layout possible that reproduces the problem. Then, hopefully, the kind users in this forum will attempt to duplicate the problem and post their feedback here. Perhaps then, we might reach the

  • Re: Why the Typing Lag?

I too get typing lag. It's definitely an optimization problem that Logos needs to fix. Although Logos 4 Mac is in 'alpha,' it is snappier both on input and in general scrolling (i.e. scrolling through a resource shouldn't lag either, but it does currently in the PC version). Matt
Bob, there is a reason why you are putting out fires, there is a reason why you have having customer support issues, there is a reason why people are comparing L4 to Microsoft Vista/ME, and you are smart enough to know what this reason is, and it is not the number of units of L4 you have sold. Your high sales only put a huge
As for the bugs and features, I felt at the time in December that Logos 4 was out a year early. Now I understand at some point you put your stick in the ground and the urgency of a released product helps make things better, but for no other reason than a long list of ver.3 features not yet implemented well, I have NEVER

  • Re: Way off topic...way over excited!

These days, there's not really a good reason to partition a drive unless you're planning on running different OSs on various partitions (although vendors of disk partitioning software will say there are performance gains, I don't see it in the real world). Logos 4's performance issues aren't really related to I/O or even CPU boundedness. Through observing
See this thread for the solution: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/12356.aspx
Rosie, thanks for the pointer. I believe this is something different because it only happened a single time, and since it occurred, I can open and close the home page all day long with no problem. Matt

  • Crash when opening the home page

Hi all, I had had Logos open for a few days without opening the home page. This morning, I clicked on the home page icon and it dropped down immediately. It had no content other than the busy/waiting graphic which I take to indicate that it's downloading content. I then clicked the home page icon again to hide it, and then opened it again hoping that
