• Re: Is technology killing the teacher?

Please no one bite my head off, I've had some bad experiences so far in these forums.. ;) You say that is not church... well I have a growing feeling myself that piling 2000-3000 people into one building to hear someone like me preach is not necessarily a good example of church either. Let me explain where I am coming from... Comparing to Paul's one

Recently I have been looking at entire sections of scripture, not chapters, but entire books. Asking questions like, "What was Paul trying to say through this letter" while looking at all of 1 cor. as a whole, or Ephesians as a whole... Or I look at an entire section of Jesus' teaching and try to understand his flow, why is he talking about this after

. If, in class, you can find the answers to nearly all your questions in Logos, then you're not asking good enough questions
Excellent observation.
One thing that I was not taught until later in life was how to ask good questions. I could do all the research and all, but it was

Matthew 16:26 When a believer justifies stealing because he wants ("needs") it, the sin of theft was preceded by the sin of covetousness. Why not just justify adultery, murder, deceit in the name of "needing" something

So the sin is.... Which of those things listed in Exodus 20 could it be? If I walk into Wallmart, and eat a box of crackers which doesn't belong to me, I will be accused of

I said David stole the bread. You said that David did not steal the bread. I quoted Jesus as saying it was not lawful to take it. I intrepret that as big J saying he stole it, You don't. FINE. I'm not playing these games with scripture. This is the last note from me to you. Feel free to have the last word. Good bye!
I kind of get the feeling with Logos that they have grown so fast and become so successful that some times it's hard to keep the "machine" running without regular glitches..............like the Black Friday sale which I think is overwhelming them now. Some times they seem to be making policy as they go along.
Back

I reply with the words of Jesus... Mark 2:25-26 But He said to them, "Have you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him: how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat, except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with

Different people will give you different answers. Heard John Piper talk about how Christian Churches and Non-Profits treat their people horribly when compared to secular companies... Tried to call the church to a higher standard because the secular world was putting us to shame... I am sure any post on this forum will get a heated response to the opposite

What is to come of PBB? It was promised for the first half of the year, but has not materialized yet. Didn't get much of a discount on some of the Public Domain stuff so I am waiting to get access back again through PBB...
1. Many people seem to be saying that the pricing is just too high. This should be noted by the men in suits over at logos. Look at the pictures on the Logos sites and you will deduce they don't wear a lot of suits at Logos HQ.
Well, shoot. On account of attire, there goes my whole argument. [quote user="Matthew
The biggest problem with this, and I've seen this happen in many ways, anyone who can't afford the software, really can't afford the equipment to run it -- and if they are 'gifted' with either (or both), eventually a problem develops that renders the technology useless, since they can't afford to get it properly repaired
