• Re: Morph Analysis

I have been in contact with Logos about this issue. According to the email that I just received, there will be a partial fix for the problem soon, but a full resolution will not be available for a few months. Thank you for finally addressing this!

George, You are correct that languages do not have an exact correspondence. This is a fact that I recognize. It is also an important fact for the point that I am making. One aspect of the study of the LXX is the translation technique of the translator(s). This means determining how the translator handled certain aspects of the Hebrew text and where

  • Re: Morph Analysis

George, It is not simply a matter of selecting Greek or Hebrew because this is not an option for person, case, number, etc. The only option is (Logos). This is a real problem for examining translation technique. I need to be able to see how and where the translation differs from the Hebrew. Take, for example, a common distinction necessitated by the

  • Re: Morph Analysis

I did a morph search for all of the verbs in a specific chapter (in this case, Malachi 1) of the Logos LXX. I then changed it to Analysis and arranged the columns the way I wanted them. After this, I exported the report to Excel and made some additional cosmetic modifications. You will notice at the top of the Excel spreadsheet that there are categories

  • Re: Morph Analysis

The problem is that the categories are not specific to the Greek and Hebrew. In the older search I was able to distinguish between Greek tense and Hebrew verb family, Greek person and Hebrew person, Greek number and Hebrew number. In the new search, there is only one category of person, number, tense, etc. Notice that under the first verb (בָּרָא) in

  • Morph Analysis

I am examining the translation technique of LXX Gen 1:1-2:2 and ran a morphological analysis of all of the verbs in this section. Previously, when I have done this with other passages, I have been able to include the tense, person, gender, and number for each language. Now, however, there is only one option for these categories (Logos). Am I missing

  • Re: Community Notes in Firefox

After some more digging, here is what I found: 1. Clicking on the reading link on faithlife.com opens a new window with a https address. 2. Clicking on the Bible link in the ribbon at the top of the page opens a new window with a simple http address. 3. Firefox was blocking the functionality of the community notes on the https. By clicking on the icon

  • Community Notes in Firefox

I am having trouble using the community notes on bible.faithlife.com when using Firefox. The dialogue bubble is accessible, but no community notes will show up and I cannot post new notes. This is not an issue with Chrome (I haven't tried EI or Safari). In this post , the error is said to have been corrected. I have found otherwise. Is there a problem

  • No longer getting notifications

I checked my settings to see if they had somehow been changed. They haven't, but I am no longer getting email notifications when someone posts to Faithlife. Can you check into this, please?

  • Re: BUGS? Bible Word Study and Community Note Links

Thank you for your response, Bradley. I suppose I should have thought about prioritizing a different LXX. However, I would like to keep the Gottingen as my primary resource. It would be nice if the Bible word study either restricted its search to Logos LXX by default or was expanded to include all of the Gottingen LXX.

  • BUGS? Bible Word Study and Community Note Links

I have two issues: 1. On the Bible Word Study, under "textual searches," the only results that are found for the LXX are in the Gottingen Deuteronomy. I can get around this by clicking the link to bring up the morph search and then changing the resource to Logos LXX, but it would be nice if I didn't have to. 2. When I reference scripture in community

  • Notifications and Prayer List

It would be nice to receive notifications through the app on my phone when comments are made on Faithlife. Right now I get notifications by email or have to look in the app itself. Also, my group is very excited about the prayer lists on Faithlife. Are there plans to make these accessible in the app like the reading lists?
We are still working on the prayer list widget for faithlife.com so that you can see your prayers and check them off as prayed for; it should be live in a week or two. It will be similar to the reading plan widget that we do have.
Any word on the prayer lists?

We have found that when a person signs out of Faithlife and a second user signs in on the same computer, the user does not change for bible.faithlife.com. Also, the user is not allowed to sign out of the Bible page. When the link is clicked, nothing happens. Here is the description from one our our members who is using the same computer for multiple

Any further information on this? Will it be a transcription or a digital copy? What other manuscripts will be produced for Logos in the International Greek New Testament Project?

  • Re: BUG: Not Getting Notifications

Thanks, Patrick. That appears to be the issue. Just to clarify, if a person posts to My Faithlife, then everyone in any group that they are in will be able to see the note. If a person posts to a particular group, then only those in the group will be able to read it. Correct?

  • Re: BUG: Not Getting Notifications

Patrick, I know about the comments on the reading plan, but this is not what I was talking about. I apologize if I was unclear. The problem is with the community notes. The issue seems to be with just a few individuals in particular. Their community notes show up in the text on bible.faithlife, com, in my desktop software, and in the mobile app. However
