• Re: Formatting of Home Page on Two Monitors

Ahhh, I see the difference now. Reading the other replies, it seems like the best solution is to let the home page open on a single monitor, and then apply the other suggestions to have the study workspaces open cleanly across the two monitors. Do I have that correct? Thanks, Jim D.

  • Formatting of Home Page on Two Monitors

Hi, I'm a lightweight Logos user, so apologies in advance if there's some incredibly obvious way to solve the problem I have. OK, maybe "problem" is too strong a word. How about "Annoyance" or "Peeve"? :) Simply put, when I start logos (to the Home Screen), and open it to span across both my monitors, there's no clean break/arrangement across the monitors

  • Re: Indexer Failure after 4.5 SR-2 Install

Mark, That fixed it! Seems a bit ominous that I lost permissions to the TEMP directory - but it's resolved, and Logos is happily indexing away. Thanks much for the assist. Blessings, Jim D.

  • Indexer Failure after 4.5 SR-2 Install

Hi, Something went awry with my SR upgrade, I think. Now, every time I start Logos, it looks like the indexer starts to run, but then errors out. I get the standard windows "program has stopped running" blurb, with these details: Description: Stopped working Problem signature: Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 Problem Signature 01: logos4indexer.exe Problem

I was late to the party signing up for Perseus - still haven't seen anything. Is there any ETA or progress information available? Thanks, Jim D.
Hi Jim, That's a good question and frankly, one that is difficult to answer since all video card reviews only benchmark 3D performance. It seems nobody is bothering to benchmark Direct2D or Aero performance at this point. In my particular case, I figure that just about anything today is going to perform better than my current
My scores are 6.5/6.8/5.8/5.4/7.8 and I'll be upgrading my video card shortly which should put all my scores over 6.5
Hi Ron (or anybody else that wants to chime in), Just curious, what method do you use to determine that a video card is "better" than your current one? I'm considering the same upgrade, and I'm

  • Re: Hard disk drive advice

Hi Mark, I added an AData 64-GB SSD to my system a couple of weeks ago, and moved Logos on to it. It's made a significant speed improvement for me. I paid $179 for the AData, less a $20 mail-in rebate. My "the" search results were 19,043,690 results in 16.15 seconds. A search for "redemption" in the NASB 95 returned 31 results in 0.19 seconds.

Ted, this might sound weird..but do this.. Restart Logos until it's faster. People have said that they do that when launching Logos....they keep restarting until it moves as it should... I know it doesn't make sense...but...
Frankly, there is nothing to stop one from using many Bible Software packages. I value Logos for research in depth when I am at home. However, I also use my NowBible to read an annual Bible Plan to me every morning fully dramatized with actors and music and to play my favorite sacred music. I also can easily fit it in my shirt

23 results in 0.15 seconds for me. Something's definitely out of whack with your system or your installation, I fear. Good luck! Jim D.

C'mon folks - My origina post was pointing out a funny (I thought) typo one of Morris's blog entries. Nothing serious about it whatsoever. PLEASE go back to the top of the thread and read my original post CAREFULLY, paying especially close attention to the TITLE and the first and last lines. Everybody laugh a little!! Blessings, Jim D.
I also read just recently that not all of the notebook chipsets have SATA II controllers, which is basically to say that an improvement from a SSD upgrade will not be fully realized due to the speed limitation of SATA I channel. This is generally not an issue for desktop computers.
That's not really true. "SATA
