I no longer seem to be getting the version update notification with service release notes (that used to be part of the 'small blue circle'). Is this a bug?
(Shortcut folders helps, though, I hope.)
In theory it should have done, but it hasn't - see my image. Because the shortcut folders are text only rather than an icon, it actually takes up more space!! But thanks for the promise to take a look at it,
Keeping the Menu / Shortcuts bar clean and non-cluttered focuses attention on the search box, which is where it should be.
Indeed I agree, but reducing the size/spacing between icons will give you that extra space! And consolidating the home button function to the Logos icon will also help give that extra space. Thanks

  • Top icon Bar - Image for Phil

[This is related to https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-desktop-app/posts/750] How space is wasted in the top bar of logos and why the Logos Logo (currently unfunctional) could be used as the home button to free up more space. The image is a copy of the word document in case the word doc cannot be viewed. 6012.No space for shortcuts.docx

  • Re: New Sermon Manager Radial View - fit to screen?

Thanks Alan. For reference (and to answer OHF) this happened in the default pop up additional window, but also occurs in the docked panel version. PS I also noted the same in some of the training videos! But thanks again Alan - I realise you are busy so thanks for the update. James

  • New Sermon Manager Radial View - fit to screen?

Hi, Just playing with new Logos 9 features. I'm unable to fit the Radial View of Sermon Manager to my screen (it's cropped at the bottom) and there doesn't appear to be any vertical scroll bars! I also tried resizing the screen and again couldn't see any scrollbars for me to see the bottom part of the circle! James
Anyway I‘m also sad to see they host the livestream on Facebook. I wish they did it on their own Faithlife site, or YouTube.
Agree 110%!! I will never use Facebook! FL has a perfectly functional website and YouTube has a wide worldwide base!

  • Re: Tables in Notes

Just as a clarification, by "images' I don't mean photos or pictures, I mean maps, diagrams, arrows, infographics, screenshots of markup etc - I use these all the time. Unfortunately, these are often stored in the same format as photos etc (jpg, png, svg etc). Tables, agreed, are absolutely essential, but so are maps, diagrams and infographics in my
however, only if the drive is NTFS formatted
Hi, This is not my experience. To confirm, I have for years been able to install and run Logos "successfully" from an exFAT external drive using Windows 10 - in fact I still can. It is seemingly more stable than running the Mac version of Logos! I can also confirm that even the

  • Re: BUG - Repeatable: Automatic Update

Hi, thanks for the replies - they are really appreciated. However, I am a questioning person and like to fully understand things. I understand that Logos (and others) have written that it needs to have NTFS formatted partitions rather than exFat but don't understand why. So here are my two questions: 1. WHY is Logos dependent upon that particular format

  • Re: BUG - Repeatable: Automatic Update

Thanks. I had already considered that option - however, I don't currently have sufficient space to fully backup the drive (hence the reason I have to backup to the same volume!). I also prefer exFAT as I also use the drive for storage for my Linux system too. I realise that currently Logos is not intended to work on external SSD (which is ridiculous

  • BUG - Repeatable: Automatic Update

Hi, Something has broken in the Logos 8 for Windows automatic update. I've not been able to install the last 3 updates automatically - Every time I get a Error writing to disk - yet I can (and have had to do total reinstalls) to the same disk fine - the setup works the update doesn't. My Logos install is in a custom location (external SSD drive, formatted

  • Re: Help! - Unable to Install update

Ok thanks Dave. As my drive was not NTFS (it's an external exFAT formatted SSD), updating security settings (as suggested in the document) was neither relevant nor possible. So it was an (effective) reinstall required (minus the indexing) - still took a while transfering the Data folders (well in excess of 100Gb) back and forth. Good news: Logos is

Hi, Ok I have tried that and get this message (see attached). Clicking Retry just repeats the error. There is no Pending directory, but I can create it via File Explorer. Any other ideas? Thanks again, James

Dave, 1. The folder E:\Logos\Pending does not exist. 2. The error occurs when I start Logos - I was not running by choice LogosSetup.exe - should I do that though? I've started Logos as usual multiple times - it downloads new resouces and then downloads an application update - all fine, then says installing and that's when I get the error. Thanks for

  • Help! - Unable to Unsrall update

Hi, I am having trouble installing an update - I get a repeatable 'crash' (it's not technically a crash - I get a popup box saying unable to install update!) I've tried rebooting etc and it downloads and then tries to install and the pops up the error. So I enabled logging and have attached logs to see if anyone can figure out why it is not installing

  • Re: Tables in Notes

You should add your request fot this to the 'Logos 9 wishlist' thread too. This, together with the essential need for images in notes, is currently a major deficiency in Logos.
