Remember EVERY Orthodox Church has a uniate double. However, there is at least one Eastern Rite that doesn't have an Orthodox double (the Melkites I believe).
As a Melkite, I know that we've been Orthodox before, but I can't say for sure that all of the Melkites became Catholics; some might have remained Orthodox. • Off topic: Christian unity

I know this is off topic but I'll argue you've probably not seen a better off-topic topic I don't know how many of you saw or heard this before , but here's a heartfelt message sent by Pope Francis through videophone to an American Pentecostal conference via an Evangelical Episcopal Bishop friend. This could well be to any Christian group, even yours

  • Re: Lumen Fidei

As much as I'm glad it finally made it into Logos, I also agree it's overpriced. It's probably going to be included in a future Verbum package upgrade for almost $1 or something anyway; so until then, for me, a personal book will do.
A big one for me would be to have a very quick turnaround time on encyclicals and other major papal/ecclesial documents. I would love to be able to read an encyclical and take notes on it in Verbum within a week or two of its release (at present, I do so on the Vatican website using Diigo). As it stands, Lumen Fidei is

Am I really the first to suggest this? It's a vailable on the Vatican website of course. Hope we don't have to wait for the Pope to resign before we see his Apostolic letters in Logos

Here's my thread-hijacking-question: how much, do you think, we are better off now (with LCV) than >3 years ago?

  • Re: Best Logos Resources to Learn Latin

Hi Bruce. This may not be the answer you're looking for but for me, I decided not to rely on the resources in Logos for my self teaching Latin plan. I decided that the lexicons and grammar books I already own as part of my Verbum package were sufficient reference for my purposes. For classical Latin, check out the excellent Cambridge distant learning

You guys should check out this old thread where even funnier typos were found. Trust me and don't read it while drinking anything. And here's one I found in WBC's commentary on Daniel 3:1 [...] as Nebuchadnezzar’s falling prostate before Daniel (2:46—the same words) implied acknowledgment of Daniel’s God. (should be prost r ate)
If you own Portfolio you get 50% off your dynamic pricing. My sales rep gave me a $2000 Master Bundle for $1000 and it added 610 volumes to my collection. $1.30 a volume is insanely cheap.
That's quite the deal David, enjoy! This is a tip for all those considering to purchase the WBC for $550: Consider calling sales and enquiring about a discount on the Nelson Bible Reference Bundle (200 vols.) . It includes the WBC and is listed at $900 but you are most likely going to get a huge discount for that from sales (it has been discounted for a long time) which would get you
