I know this is going to thoroughly surprise some of you who have followed my rants and criticism of Logos but thought I'd let you know I decided to upgrade anyway and look forward to the new features.

Any chance you'll consider making the sermon editor stand alone in the future. I don't necessarily prefer internet required features.

I have asked that this whole discussion be deleted from the forum as I feel I was wrong to approach my grievance in this manner and repent and ask forgiveness of those I have offended. Some people are very pleased with Logos performance and the companies business practices, others from reading through the forums are not. I guess it just depends on what

So, my next question, how many of you answering in favor of Logos prices and practices actually purchase the products from your own pocket and how many are Ministers/Pastors who get to purchase study aids and software from an expense account setup by their church and funded by the offerings?

  • Re: Really Faithlife or Logos whatever you call yourself.

I am not trying to say how bad Logos is I use it for much of the classical literature I have purchased through the years of ownership and for some of its study aids which are very good. My point was the cost of upgrading to the new version and being forced to purchase resources that I have no interest in. I don't even care for some of the datasets that

That sounds like a good deal and one I could live with but after looking at it and its features it appears to be all cloud based so would be useless without an internet connection, is that correct?

M J, I am too and have several programs that get updated on a regular basis and offer me a good deal as a previously registered user to upgrade. Some of these such as Sonar DAW, Accordance Bible Software, Logic Pro, etc cost similar in initial cost to Logos but when an upgrade out the cost is significantly lower and full featured. The most I've paid

Actually it's like expecting Honda to do a recall to fix features that don't perform up to specs instead of saying, "Well no, you didn't get all you should have in that model year but if you buy this new one we promise it will do all that we promised you the previous one would do." All I am asking for is a affordable full feature app without the extras

I love it!! Lots of bug fixes over Logos 6. In other words fixing what we already paid for, what a deal!!!

  • Really Faithlife or Logos whatever you call yourself.

Here we go again with the new upgraded Logos barely get an opportunity to use the full potential of the previous version and its time to shell out some more bucks for promised features and performance that will be in work thru bug fixes and updates, never fully meeting potential, until the next upgrade comes out wanting more money for more promises

  • Re: ANNOUNCE: Faithlife ending Logos 5.2b support on September 21, 2015

I did get the Logos 6 Core and am quite happy that I finally see the Logos we were promised when Logos 4 was announced but logos is no longer my goto bible study tool I just use it for the resources I had invested in all these years when I need them. I lost faith in Logos or Faithlife to deliver on their promises. That's where I'm at but doesn't mean

The Core Engine is free anything else especially the crossgrade price is outrageous for someone who already has an adequate library and doesn't need the fluff of the packages offered. Since Logos 6 is basically neutered without the datasets which are only available at the Crossgrade level, will I retain use of the datasets I have in logos 5 if I install

  • Re: Upgrade or wait?

TCBlack, I checked out some of the features videos and I have to agree some of the new stuff is quite impressive if it works as advertised but when Investigating the upgrade paths I think the upgrade prices are just nuts. They appear to be offering little to nothing significant in the starter package which jumps an L5 user with an already significant

  • Upgrade or wait?

Is Logos 6 out of Alpha yet or should I wait a couple of years for it to be almost complete and ready for logos 7's Alpha release? Sorry but though Bob has been fair and upright towards unhappy customers like myself, I still have low confidence in their product releases since the days of Logos 4 for Mac. Add to that the continuing development of Logos

  • When will Vyrso become a real ebook reader like ibooks or kindle

The idea of a reader app apart from logos was a great idea the only problem is that it is obviously just a cut and paste of the logos apps functionality instead of a truly functional eBook reader app. It has been around for sometime now and been updated a few times and we still have no bookmark function or efficient smooth paging or navigation as found

  • Why still problems with crashes?

Logos 5 should be to the point of becoming a mature program that runs and behaves well but I am still experiencing random crashes on my macbook that just happen when I attempt to do just simple things. It is very random but one in particular that always occurs is anytime I access the timeline and switch to bible view, forget it, boom!! crash-restart

  • Re: Clearing Reading Plan from Mac Calendar

Try right clicking on one of the days entry and select delete, it should ask you if you want to delete just today or all future events. I was able to do this on my Mac and clear my calendar of the reading plan entries.

  • Re: new iPad app coming?

I'm not sure what direction Logos is going with the iOS apps but the latest one is just a mess to navigate compared to the earlier and simpler designed versions. It may include more functionality but the layout and navigation is tedious in my opinion.

Jack & Andy, thanks for the replies: I wasn't wanting to fall back on my critical ways either and I know the Logos versions are said to be tagged and searchable but I like Jack's advice that if it doesn't seem like a great deal then don't buy it. That's simple enough!!

  • Works of Jacob Arminius

I was about to purchase the collection on sale for Logos but decided to check on any print versions available and found you can get his complete works in kindle format for under $3 and enhanced versions of Vol's 1 - 3 for $1.99 each. Now having a hard time justifying $80 for the logos version since it's considered "Public Domain".
