  • Re: Tired of Logos "ads" on Iphone start up

How about a home page that is similar to the PC/MAC version homepages instead of this list of ads and announcements. Isn't that just an RSS feed?

  • Re: Fusion VS Parallels?

I have used both, but when paralells released v4 and broke what was a perfectly good working app in v3, I got my money back and switched to fusion. I have been more than happy with fusion so far and yes you can cut and paste between apps/OS's. The coolest feature is the unity (fusion)/coherence (Para) mode which basically integrates both OS's into one

  • Re: Original Language resources for the non scholar

Ordered both the books mentioned from overstock.com and have started the class "Greek for the rest of us" classes on the Teknia website. Thanks for all the info.

I took your advice and called the sales department yesterday and am now the proud owner of the original languages package. I did get a deal from them that was a little cheaper than retail so I appreciate that and with the 12 month payment plan it became very affordable. Now if I can learn to use the resources I have at my disposal I will be elated.

  • Re: Lower System Specs for Mac

If I were to venture a semi intelligent guess since I am familiar with both systems and currently prefer Macs, It is the Operating System that makes most of the difference and the overhead that is required for them to perform efficiently. Windows is and always has been a resource hog. They're whole registry concept is a mess. If you were to compare

  • Re: Original Language resources for the non scholar

I appreciate your suggestions and I have looked into upgrading but for almost $400 - 600 for the two lowest scholar packages, I don't need all the preaching and ministry resources that are in them and are padding the cost. I would like a package option that just includes some of the more basic language and ancient text resources at a reasonable price

  • Original Language resources for the non scholar

I have the Bible Study version of Logos 4 Mac so it's original language resources are minimal but sufficient for my knowledge level of them. What would you recommend as additional must haves for someone who wants to be able to look a little deeper without having to be a greek or hebrew scholar? Dennis Miller

  • Re: Anyone running VMware 3, Windows XP SP3, with VMware and the VM on an SSD?

Pat, good points all around. My point about the Christian part is that as such we should be above reproach in our dealings, business or personal, and pursue excellence in what we do. I guess at this point then Logos is pursuing excellence in their product they just have a lot more work to do to get there.

I am running the exact same software config you mention. VMfusion 3 with XP SP3 from a boot camp partition on an IMac Core 2 duo 2.66 Mhz with 4 Gig of Ram and the performance is somewhat sluggish. I am only dedicating 1 cpu to to the VM but I have some 3D games that run well, I think Logos 4 for windows is just your typical Windows app, not necessarily

  • Re: Feature Request: Scrivener integration for Mac

I have Scrivner also and bought it with the intent to use it for sermon development but found it kind of tedious to use for that purpose. Can you pastors who use it give some tips or share how you use it for this purpose, are there any training aids to help one get the most from this program other than the supplied tutorial? It is a good program but

  • Re: Logos 4 Win is not downloading new resources

I have tried all the suggestions and still cannot get my purchased resources updated in Logos 4 for windows. I am not liking this new cloud resource delivery, I would rather have a file I can download and install instead of having to depend on big brother's servers delivering them to me.

  • Logos 4 Win is not downloading new resources

I recently purchased a couple of new resources from logos that downloaded and updated automatically when I ran the L4 Mac version. But when I went to my XP installation through VMWare Fusion I cannot get it to find or install the new resources. I have tried update now and sync now but still no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Bryan, how you doing, I didn't know you were on this forum, we need to get together and talk Logos some time.

  • Re: Timeframe for full implementation of Logos 4 Mac?

OK, I'm done complaining and went ahead with the painful process of downloading Logos for PC and running it through VMware fusion on my iMac. Works fine with only a little performance hit due to the resources I've allotted to the VM. I will stay content to operate this way and give grace to the logos Mac development team as they continue to refine and

  • Re: Another round of L4 Resource updates?

Jeremy, you are correct that I should have probably saved my money but you are incorrect about using Logos 3 for mac, that was also an incomplete product with lots of promise that never came through. What I really should have done was just stick to using the windows version in VMware and be happy that I had a thoroughly working Bible research program

  • Re: Another round of L4 Resource updates?

I know the Mac version is still in Alpha but from what I'm reading it would appear the PC version is still in Beta release. Since when does a company release for sale a product that has not even completed proper testing and development? Is this the best we can expect from a Christian organization?

  • Re: Timeframe for full implementation of Logos 4 Mac?

If the new product wasn't fully ready for release then why did they announce it and begin selling it. They should have waited till it was fully tested and through development instead of trying to cash in on the Christmas season.
