• Re: Church History Essentials?
Bruce Shelley's Church History in Plain Language is a good, accessible read.
I agree with Allen. This is a good book though somewhat concise in content but thorough at the same time concerning the need to know information. I am using this text for an upcoming 8 week Church History class I'll be teaching this summer

  • Re: Suggestion: Way to limit which books are available in Vyrso

I agree with the original poster of this thread. I want an easy way to select just the books I have downloaded to my device for use on Vyrso and if this is Logos answer for an ebook app then please make it like one and include features found in other reader apps like book marks, chapter breaks, etc.

  • Re: Extremely Upset
Note: I do not have a single solitary program on my Mac that does not perform up to scale other than Logos-Again-None, nada, nothing. Everything else runs fine.
Yep, pretty much a fact there, been true since the beginning of this L4-Mac fiasco. That is why it is no longer my primary Bible Study software but something I use for the unique

Thanks, I'll check it out now. I don't recall seeing a colon in the video but I'll look at that again also.

  • filter commands not working in library window

This may have been addressed already in another post but while going through the Greek Word Study course yesterday I noticed that the filter commands in the library window (typelexicon or authorWeirsbe) do not appear to work on the mac version. Is this a known discrepancy or am I missing something in my setup?

  • Re: Logging in

I'm having this problem also and have had it for some time now. Just wondering why there has not been a simple answer posted here to such a simple issue. Every other app builder in existence does this without a problem but for some reason this is an unanswerable issue here. Why no options to keep logged in or a place in the app to store your user information

  • Re: How Long Before Mac Developers Will be Allowed to Catch Up to Windows version?

As a long time Logos user as well, and not a very happy one since the L4 fiasco, will these be fixed in L4 or on the list of promises for L5 which has got to be on the drawing board since it's been over 2 years since L4 was announced and released. On the subject of Windows parity, I would rather have an app that runs like a Mac app should, fast and

That then is a good thing that your not going to repeat he same mistake made with the Learn Hebrew and Greek videos. Just a suggestion for the future, don't post any dates until you have your QA process complete and know you have a finished product to ship.

If I post it here then they have to answer for all of us who ordered it to see. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is disappointed in the delay. Would just like to know why they keep having these recurring problems with meeting prior posted dates.

  • Why the change in ship date?

Ships 10/10/2011 Learn to Do Word Studies with Logos Bible Software it was supposed to be shipped yesterday now I have to wait till next month. What's up with that. Seems like every time I get excited about Logos they just do something to disappoint again and again. Please get it together and meet what you say instead of always disappointing your customers

Sorry guys and gals but I don't think Jesus required any text or translation since He himself was "The Word".

Pat, I understand what you are saying but times change and tools change, it doesn't necessarily mean people/pastors are being lazy who utilize them. As for not listening to Pastors who lack knowledge of original languages, I have not experienced any great revelation from these so called individuals who have attended seminary or Bible college, for many

I'll bet Watchman Nee wouldn't be concerned one bit whether it was copyrighted or not since he was concerned more with preaching and teaching the word than peddling the gospel.

  • OK - I'm getting more impressed!!

I had created a passage verse list in Logos on my laptop and later that evening when I was wanting to work at my desktop I went looking for my list to copy to my desktop to continue adding to only to find I couldn't locate it on my hard drive. I then decided to just start again only to be surprised that my list now showed up on my iMac intact. I was

  • Re: 1534 Tyndale Bible PBB

Thanks Mark. I actually just purchased a facsimile copy of Tyndale's New Testament from an original manuscript at the Bible Museum in Eureka Springs, AR. Interesting reading from the old English, takes some getting used to.

  • Re: Copying multiple verses from a Bible search

Check out a writers app called Scrivner for the Mac. I have found it to be an awesome tool for research, study and sermon/teaching prep. I found I could send verses linked in logos documents to a verse list and then import that list into scrivner for instant availibility while compiling notes.I can also create tons of research/articles/pdf's etc into

  • Re: You've come a long way Logos for Mac!

Yes, with all the negative feedback and remarks I've posted in my frustration over the last couple of years I must pass along a job well done to the Mac development team for continuing to work hard towards improvements that are definitely obvious in the latest update. Nice to be able to benefit from my investment again.
