Well, I was hoping the DVDs would come in today's mail, but they didn't. Has anyone gotten theirs yet?
Oh yes! This is what will make it all so much easier to get your head round Discourse Analysis. If you follow Steve's own blog on NT Discourse , you will know that he combines serious scholarship with an ability to use mundane situations to illuminate quite technical, even arcane, aspects of Discourse Analysis. $14. And I bid $34. Yet I'm getting it for $14. THANK YOU for shouting about Community Pricing. What a great concept! It's a win-win for everyone. Here's a book suggestion I made a long time ago, that really, really deserves to be in Logos, esp. since it's out of print and hard to obtain at a good price: http://www.amazon.com/Comprehensive-Etymological
I just got an email from Logos about a $2 discount on Timothy S. Laniak's Handbook for Hebrew Exegesis: http://www.logos.com/ebooks/details/HBKHEBEX Apparently this is a Logos-only book; there is no paper/print version. Did anyone download it? Any thoughts about its value/usefulness (only 110 pp.). No screenshots on the Logos
And the good news Eric, is that if CA enters production at lower than $34, than you'll pay the lower price as well!
Yep. I read about CP and recommended pricing strategies before clicking on my price. Such a deal!

I didn't know about CP. But now I do. Which means I'll be spending MORE MONEY at Logos. Grrrrr!!!! (Anyway, y'all convinced me to get this Catena Aurea; I bid $34 - that should help it along a bit.)

That Notion Ink Adam looks pretty cool! I hadn't hear of it. Thanks for the heads up! Now, if only it came with USB 3.0 (not sure when that hits the streets, though).

  • Re: Question about LEB

It appears that the Libronix version of the Lexham English Bible is the incomplete 2009 edition - e.g., Luke and John are missing, and maybe others, to. The title page says (c) 2009, whereas the Logos 4 version says (c) 2010. Should I report this?

  • Re: Made to be a Logos Resource! - Critical Edition Ecumenical Councils!

All the more reason for Logos to add a decent scholarly Latin lexicon to its library - esp. for those of us who don't know Latin but would at least like to be able to link to a lexicon for this, the Vulgate, the Latin passages of the Apostolic Fathers and the Apocrypha, etc.
It is increasingly true that some resources cost more in Logos format than in paper format.
I can understand a little more, but this example/instance (Hengel's book) is ridiculous, IMO.

  • Re: Logos March Madness

A sign of real "madness" here is that they're charging $60 for Hengel's book on the Septuagint ( The Septuagint as Christian Scripture: Its Prehistory and the Problem of Its Canon ). Even at the now-25%-discount price of $45, that's still insane, 'cause you can get the paperback from Amazon for $18.99 (which is how/where I got it), retail price $24

Okay, I got my email and now have my EBC. Hurray! Also, be sure to run the Update script or click on the attached link in your emai to add EBC to your Libronix collection as well, in case you default to Logos 3 for some reason and want to use EBC.

  • Re: EBC Release?

It says "Live" but when I do Update Now or Update Resources, nothing happens, and there is no DOWNLOAD link on the Logos site for the book - in fact, none of the Pradis pre-pub links work from my pre-pub orders account page - i..e, the pages for those books now say they can't be found.

  • Re: Kudos

Hurry and do not despair. If you want the EBC, you have to do this and get Zondervan's approval and your name on the list before 3/15/10 (which may now not be possible, but you should still be able to do this in time for the other titles you'd want), I suspect. I had the pre-Pradis versions of NIDNTT and NIDOTTE on CD, as well as in print, and I communicated

Okay, I downloaded 4.0b Release Candidate 2 (v4.02.3.7337) per Melissa's post: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/13124.aspx And even though I have 5 hours of indexing to go, I decided to test the one thing I was interested in - i.e., did it solve the problem of my PC crashing everytime I did a lemma morphological search.
