When I picked text comparison in the search option up pops a window that says the reference cannot be located.

  • Re: Goodbye, Logos

Fasting is a neglected and very beneficial Christian discipline. (If you want some good advice or practice, go visit your local Eastern Orthodox Church and ask for their yearly Calendar with feast-day/fast-day instructions.) With a few basic food choice changes and some regular meal reductions, one should be able to cut back significantly on one's food

  • LSJ error and Logos lemma and tagging error

It appears to me that the citation in LSJ from Plutarch's Romulus for "runaway slave" being a meaning of apostatēs might be incorrect. I think that the word that is translated for apostatēs is "fugitives"; the word for "slaves" in the sentence occurs 2 words earlier -"oiketōn." I post both the English and Greek of Romulus below, from the Logos Perseus

Take a break from the debate and watch this video: Agnostic + Love = Believes Minister Jesus to people.

Updated GGBB? When I talked with Dan Wallace and Verlyn Verbrugge a year-and-a-half or so ago at a Regional ETS conference, Dan said it would be ~5 years before a new edition of GGBB would be out. (I know they are mining the Fathers and other Koine literature - LXX, I assume, as well as Josephus and Philo, I'd guess - for a more extensive database of

Having a debate about the syncretic influence of Greek philosophy on Christianity is not near the top of my to-do list...at best it is around #665 or perhaps #666. At present, I am working on #1g and trying to work my way back to #1a. Sorry, perhaps another time.
To be honest, you wouldn't fair

How does the community-pricing Herodotus Persian Wars http://www.logos.com/product/31159/herodotus-the-persian-wars differ from what we already have in the free Perseus English and Greek volumes?

  • Re: Eusebius Ecclesiastical History Greek + English scrolling problem on PC

My Logos didn't update - even doing the Update now command - and it's still doing it - i.e., changing to 2 side-by-side English-English or Greek-Greek when I try to link them.

  • Eusebius Ecclesiastical History Greek + English scrolling problem on PC

I can open up the new Eusebius Ecclesiastical History English + Greek texts one on top of the other in the iPhone app and get them to sync and scroll together. But when I tried to open up both books side-by-side on my computer (PC) and then linked them so they could scroll together, whenever I scroll one the other changes to the same resource. I.e.

I downloaded it to my iPhone app yesterday, but it did not show up in my Logos 4 at home, even though I shut down and restarted Logos and tried the Update Now command. Maybe tonight.

  • Re: AYBD (Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary) vs. NIDB (New Interpreter's Dictionay of the Bible) - Examples?

Wow, hardly any overlap between the two. I see the NIDB uses Greek and Hebrew, whereas the AYBD uses transliterations. Now I have to decide if it's worth $200. Also, this isn't the first time, and probably won't be the last time, that AYBD is on sale.

I believe someone once posted some examples comparing the AYBD with the NIDB (not yet in Logos), but I can't find the post or thread. Can someone here do that? https://www.logos.com/product/1660/anchor-yale-bible-dictionary https://www.logos.com/product/8801/new-interpreters-dictionary-of-the-bible

  • Re: A product on your wish list is on sale!

I got the email about the Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary sale (with the coupon code) without yet having the resource in my Wish List. So their system knows it sent me the email. I guess it needs more tweaking.

  • Re: A product on your wish list is on sale!

The Add to Wish List link now works, so I added the Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary to see if it would display with a red tag, since it's on sale through September 13, but all that displays is the regular price and no red tag.

I wanted to add a sale item to my Wish List to see if the red tag would pop up, but when I try to click on Add to Wish List for the item, nothing happens. I tried this with 2 resources - no luck.
