• Re: Crash: Logos cannot update

Thanks, that did the trick! I feel foolish not realizing the solution was that simple...

Thanks, alabama24. I'm trying to update from within the app. I will try a manual install according to your instructions.

  • Crash: Logos cannot update

Logos 6 (Mac) says an update is available. Whenever I click the update link, the update tool opens, and tells me to click to extract the update. After doing so, it says the update could not be installed, and everything freezes. Problem repeats after restarting the OS (El Cap.). Logs attached. 4380.LogosLogs.csesget.20160114-230022.zip

  • Re: Notes: What's the point?

Thanks for your reply. What I'd most like to do with notes is use them for teaching Bible classes (I'm a parish pastor). I guess I'll continue to compile my prep notes in Pages until I can print from Mac Logos. Thanks again.

  • Notes: What's the point?

As far as I can see, notes cannot be printed, nor can they easily be copied and pasted en masse into a word processor. Notes made on a computer don't show up on iPad or iPhone. (Unless something has changed just recently, you can't even make notes on iPad or iPhone.) The only possible use I can imagine for notes is to prepare for preaching or teaching

I'd like the Bible in Amharic as well.
Logos defaults to the last-used option (it's context sensitive)
That's the way a computer program ought to operate. This is really great to know. Thanks for the info.

You solved my problem! Thank you thank you thank you! I don't know how I hadn't seen that before; I feel so foolish! Either I changed that somehow when I first started using Logos, or it defaults to something else. I am deeply grateful to you.

Thanks. Just a quick update: it's still behaving in the same manner in Alpha 20.

I have the same condition in Alpha 20. No Greek Lexicons except Lexham Analytical.

  • Bug? Greek Lexicons not functioning in Alpha 19.1

Normally, when I would right-click on a word in the Greek NT (Byzantine text or NA27), I would get a nice little window with options like "copy", "look up", etc. In that window, on the list in the left hand side, would be lexicons and theological dictionaries I have prioritized such as Kittel, BDAG, Spicq, etc. Right now, no matter what Greek word I

  • Re: Considering a Mac

I switched about two years ago, and haven't regretted it for a minute. My only regret was waiting so long! I was using another Bible software program on the Mac, together with a lot of dead-tree books. I've been using Logos 4 Mac Alpha exclusively for some time for sermon and Bible study prep, and while I am looking forward to some of the features that

  • Re: New to Mac...question about hardware and question about software

I'd definitely go with 4 GB RAM (more, if you can - my two Macs don't have capacity for more, but a newer Mac perhaps can use more) - Logos will run better with the extra help there. Apple charges a premium for RAM; I've had very good success buying additional gigs of RAM through Other World Computing. It is amazingly easy to install extra RAM yourself

I had an idea while typing the previous message. As an experiment, I removed the Concordia Self-Study Commentary from my priority list altogether and then resubmitted the search. This time, instead of the Concordia Self-Study Commentary, the bottom-right pane had the Apologetics Study Bible. I'm wondering if Logos isn't treating the Lutheran Study Bible

Sure. From the Home Page, I type "Psalm 39" (not in the command bar, but in the box beneath), which takes me to the Passage Guide. It opens in a three-pane view (one long pane on the left with the passage guide, and two panes to the right - on the top are some Bibles I have prioritized - ESV, NKJ, Lexham LXX Interlinear, Logos LXX, BHS/WHM 4.2, and
